The restaurant, located on a hill with a beautiful view of the bay, unfortunately did not meet our expectations. Despite the great location and positive Google reviews, our visit was disappointing.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was unpleasant, and the waitstaff seemed disengaged from their work. The menu was poorly described, leading us to order a dish we didn’t like. The moussaka we ordered was just okay. We paid €31.50 for two dishes and a glass of wine, which seems unreasonable given the quality of service and food.
The worst part of the evening was the situation with a family of four children who behaved outrageously. The children were throwing cutlery, broke a glass, and their screams were unbearable. The waitstaff had no control over the situation, and one of them, likely a friend of the family, responded to other guests’ complaints with a dismissive wave. Everyone present in the restaurant was clearly disgusted by the situation.
In summary, apart from the beautiful view, the restaurant offers nothing else. We definitely do not...
Read moreThe Restaurant, food and the service were all superb and the view at sunset from the roof terrace was amazing (and worth the very steep walk uphill to get to the restaurant!). Unfortunately, my steak wasn’t prepared how I liked it so I sent it back and the second time it still wasn’t right. Our waiter was incredibly apologetic and I changed my order to the lamb chops which when they came out were absolutely sublime. As an apology, they gave us a second bottle of the wine we were drinking and didn’t charge me for my main course, which was appreciated and what I would expect from a restaurant of this quality. It is traditional on Crete vet at the end of the meal they would bring you out a small bottle of Ouzo or Raki, though they bought us out a huge bottle shaped like an AK47, which after the two bottles of wine we also had made the walk back down the hill a lot easier from the walk up it! I would definitely recommend and will also go back if/when I visit...
Read moreSummary: Cozy, non-pretentious restaurant with quick and friendly staff and LARGE servings. We went there five times!
Food: Really filling, fatty and delicious food. Perfect after a long day in the mountains. LARGE servings! We (a couple) were always full after sharing one salad and one main dish (or two-three appetizers). Also LARGE servings of wine and raki. Be prepared!
Service: No intrusive barkers on the street. Friendly welcoming staff. Dishes are prepared quickly. If you sit on the top your food will be brought upstairs via cute small elevator.
Atmosphere: Top level has a wonderful view, especially at sunset. It is well worth the short hike to the hill. However, in October it can get a bit windy. Bottom level (inside) is really cozy and...
