The staff were the defenition of medicore. They were friendly but had multiple mistakes with billing and orders. The level of service would be totally a ok in a more casual, fast food or beach resturant. But the resturants DNA feels more akin to a more formal dinner resturant. Another issue was the wait time. An hour is too long for what was served espcially when the resturant was roughly half full when we arrived.
The food was my biggest issue with the resturant. To begin with the food was decent to ok. There was nothing wrong with it, it was just very bland and lacked identity, especially for the prices charged.
I ordered a beef filler for 25€ and if I’d wanted a sauce that would have been 3€ extra. For this price you’d really want to see the chefs identity and personality on the plate but instead I got a well done fillet and french fries. No sauce, no other garnish than fries, no presentation, nothing. To add insult to injury even the spices were the most inoffensive thing in the world, pretty much just salt and pepper. For the price you’d really hope to get something more than just a grill dish that’d run you 5-10€ anywhere in Europe. In their defence, many other dishes were well plated and tasty but again to charge 25€ you have to be able to somewhat back it off.
Some positives were the wine list and the armoshphere. Wine selection was pretty decent and the place was clean and inviting but nothing ground breaking.
I understand that the resturant is catered for tourists but I’d personally suggest people instead try the upper village resturants. I visited a few of them but all had faster, nicer service, better prices and more...
Read moreWere waiting for a traditional cuisine experience but that tought was cut short after the singular thing on the traditional list that perked my interest contained red meat that I can't eat and after requesting it to be removed from the dish got a slight sigh from the waiter who then told me the all the dishes are preassemled so it's not possible in anyway. So I ordered a chicken mushroom pasta, and my mother ordered moussaka + two appetizers. I liked the decour of the place, music was bit too loud and repetetive. Appetizers hit both ends of the scale, the other one was great and the other we found dull. At first the main dishes were good. But then the saltiness of my dish pushed through way too much and I just couldn't finish it, and I'm usually the one that goes quite heavy on the salt. My mother's experience was the other way round, she would have liked to have more spices to her food. And after we were done we tried to get attention of a waiter but since the rush was just starting I had no chance of talking of the food, and they didn't ask if we were happy. Back home this kind of service would not be acceptable in any way, but learned during this vacation that here it is what you get in...
Read moreWe arrived, got a table right away, and were quickly greeted by a waiter who handed us menus. We ordered chicken souvlaki for our child, while the adults chose squid and rabbit in wine sauce. The food arrived within 5–10 minutes, which was great since we were quite hungry.
Our eleven-year-old wasn’t too pleased with the chicken souvlaki—it came simply as a skewer with some potato wedges, and there was no sauce included, which was a drawback. That said, both the chicken and the wedges tasted good.
The squid, on the other hand, had a rather odd flavor that didn’t sit well. It was served with vegetables but, again, no sauce, which might have helped improve the dish. Overall, it could have been better.
The rabbit in wine sauce was decent in flavor, but eating it was a challenge due to the many small bone fragments throughout. Constantly having to pick them out made it...
