Agree with reviews that say it’s a tourist trap. The setting is fun, like a theatre set, with lots of props and greenery. Has a magical garden feel. The place has personality and a bit of cheeky arrogance - a bit of fun!
It was someone’s birthday in the restaurant and they received a HUGE arrangement of flowers, with flags dotted in and sparklers, which they paraded around the restaurant before ending at the party table, then ‘happy birthday’ was played for the whole restaurant with backing music. It was amusing for everyone else but probably mortifying for the recipient.
Service was quite good even though the staff seemed ‘over it’, probably getting bored of the bells and whistles. They were polite and attentive, although food came far too quickly.
Food was average - some was really nice, some wasn’t good. After dessert came a long tray of complimentary fruit with a hollowed out orange on fire, all quite showy. Fruit was too much, big whole hard fruits which we couldn’t eat, and the toxic fire-lighter smell that lingered in the orange was horrid.
Bread/table cover was charged at €1.50 a head. 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts, a beer and 500ml of Retsina came to around €65. Not overly pricey but not a great quality of food and felt quite ill afterwards. Better off going to a local taverna away...
Read moreThere’s a striking contrast between the setting and the quality of the food. The service and atmosphere were genuinely lovely — I’ve rarely seen a more romantic or beautiful location. Unfortunately, the food was among the worst I’ve had in years.
The starters were just acceptable — nothing memorable, nothing offensive — but the mains were a disaster.
I’ve never had a worse moussaka. It was buried under an inch-thick slab of bland béchamel, with a single layer of vegetables and a few scraps of overcooked, poor-quality beef at the bottom. The presentation felt dated and clumsy — it’s 2025, and we’re still garnishing dishes with a lone tomato slice as if that adds elegance? The whole thing was greasy and uninspired.
My partner’s steak was equally disappointing: a low-quality cut, served with plain, dry rice and two whole, unseasoned boiled potatoes. This is not how steak should ever be served, and certainly not at this price point.
We ordered three starters, two mains, and two glasses of white wine. With the service charge, the bill came to €100 — incredibly disappointing, especially considering that just days earlier, we had an outstanding meal for the same price at a waterfront restaurant in Chania, starting with an “S”.
A beautiful setting can only take you so far — the kitchen needs to match...
Read moreAt first I didn't even realise this place is a restaurant, were just amazed of how beautifully they have decorated the (winter dining?) hall. After this realisation decided to come back in the evening and experience it first hand. It's beautiful, calm and visually oh so interesting, at least early in the evening as we were. Loved the little details in the service, how we were given flowers and how the staff encourages me to roam around the restaurant just to experience it fully. After previous nights disapointment on another restaurant this hit the spot and later on the week we came back to dine again. Didn't find the avocado chicken from the speciality menu to top the chicken from their grill menu so clearly as I had expected but still the food was good, and we enjoyed ourselves + loved the fact that in this restaurant you didn't get the traditional raki bottle to the table. We were wondering if thisis a consideration for a customer who doesn't order anything alcoholic or just basic...
