We ordered pork chops, ribs and chicken. The place has a spectacular view of the sunset, I’ll give it that much.
The food: Super tender ribs and chops, but the dishes were so covered in BBQ sauce/glaze, so it went all soggy and it actually covered the taste of the meat. Same for the fried potatoes. Hence, the food gets a 3- out of 5 rating.
But then came the service. The waiters were super stressed and would have been downright running, had they walked any faster. There was this long-haired boss who was the fastest moving one, speaking loudly to the others, pointing here and there over the crowd of guests.
Poor attention after serving the meal, and when it was time to get the check, it was an all-greekish printout of what at least looked like the things we ordered. Plus a hand written note with some other garble, which added €5 more. I just paid and said it would be nice if non-greek reading people could decipher the bill.
The tender, but soggy food alone would render an overall 3/5, but considering the service, it deserves a 2/5.
I seriously think those who give this place a 4 or 5, should visit other restaurants first, for...
Read moreWorst food I had in Platanias. I first tried to order the ribeye steak, but unfortunately the cook didn’t want to serve it since they had just received it in. The server offered us the filet instead, which we declined — but he pushed back and asked why we didn’t want the filet. Bit of a weird interaction, since if we wanted the filet we would order that, but ok.
Instead, I ordered the spare ribs. What I was served was a boneless slab of gelatinous meat, absolutely drenched in barbecue sauce. I honestly have no idea what it actually was. The texture and taste were so bad I could only eat half. Worst spare ribs I’ve had in my entire life, and that includes the microwaveable ones.
The location was nice and modern, and the raki was good — but the server almost forced us to drink it, pouring more into our glasses even after we said no.
It’s a good place to watch the sunset and maybe grab a beer or two, but I definitely wouldn’t go there...
