Lambrinos Suites Aparthotel — Hotel in Municipality of Platanias

Had been visiting Crete and especially Chania & Platanias twice a year over the past 3 years, and Lambrinos Suites always matched and fulfilled our expectations as the resort to relax and enjoy 😊 especially after a tour excursion or a business trip. ||In our opinion May and September comprise the best times to Enjoy Platanias and Crete, in general. Weather conditions are ideal and you are bound to receive the best service. ||Lambrinos Suites is a small family-run hotel ideally situated in the heart of Platanias Resort, 2-minute walk from a lovely endless sandy beach 🏖, featuring all the necessary amenities - including a nice swimming pool - to make a memorable worry-free stay at a bargain price! Room number 18 is like a cellar. If they give it to you, ask for another. If they can't change it, change the hotel. Your vacation might depend on it.

Room 18 is located below ground. You have a single window next to the entrance with heavy curtain hiding it. The room is dark with even darker little nooks and corners that no light reaches.

There is no terrace.

Your entrance is right next to your neighbor's entrance. There you can sit and keep watch over your clothesline, because that's all the view you have.

Kitchen is a tiny, dark nook next to your bed with a fridge you can't fit anything into.

The bathroom. There's a bathtub with permanent smudges on the bottom. Shower curtain with a stained bottom. Then there are nice, little air ventilation slits in the top corner, where the cockroaches creep in.

My four year old daughter told me there's a giant ant on the floor and I nearly died. Lucky we had her toy shovel that mommy could use to end the menace. Scored two during our stay.

I asked for a new room immediately after seeing the room 18. Was told they were full and to come back in the morning. Went back in the morning and was told I would get a two bedroom suite the next day. Well. There was a some mix up and we ended up in a perfectly normal, one bedroom room in the first floor. The new room was perfectly respectable, normal room that most of the reviews are about.

All would be have been fine without the two nights in the room 18! No discount, no freebies, no apologies - just explanations. Never going back and...

La struttura nel complesso è gradevole, ben tenuta e, in apparenza, di recente costruzione. Si trova molto vicino al mare, anche se non è uno dei migliori di Creta. Ciò nonostante presenta parecchie insidie. Il Lambrinus è posizionato in un complesso di case/villaggi/strutture turistiche costruite senza un ben chiaro criterio logico, questo implica che il rapporto tra la vostra stanza e il vicinato è molto intenso, o che, ad esempio, per arrivare al mare percorrerete un intrigato percorso tra vari complessi turistici, case varie, un paio di piscine, ingressi di camere di centri non ben identificati e così via. Inoltre l'hotel è privo di un parcheggio privato, il che implica la, per me quotidiana, ricerca di un posto auto sulla strada esterna (guai a voi se parcheggiate nel parcheggio fuori al Lambrinus, quello appartiene al Blue Sea, altra struttura dell'agglomerato. Se oserete farlo spunterà un agguerrita vecchietta da un balcone che vi caccerà in malo modo, parlando un numero di lingue imprecisato, tutte ovviamente mischiate tra loro, facendovi comunque ben presente che li non ci potete stare... e io mi ero solo fermato a scaricare i bagagli...). Platanias inoltre si traduce in uno stradone tutto negozi di souvenir e locali studiati per il turista nord -europeo... di caratteristico non troverete nulla (meglio allungarvi a Chaina se potete, la città vecchia è molto meglio). Per quanto riguarda le stanze c'è tutto un discorso da fare, per un inconveniente creato dalla struttura ho passato una notte in una stanza modello base e le successive in una stanza modello appartamento (quella da me effettivamente pagata). Dunque la stanza modello base (la numero 11 per la cronaca) è letteralmente un incubo, priva di ogni arredo utile, con un micro terrazzino a misura di tavolino (niente stendino per queste camere), posta al piano terra con "affaccio" diretto sui tavoli del bar. Questo tipo di affaccio ha una serie di implicazioni, siccome il bar è il punto di passaggio obbligato per raggiungere le stanze e siccome la camera è una monostanza è necessario tenere le doppie e pesanti tende sempre chiuse, pena vi troverete sempre gente a guardarvi in stanza. Le tende chiuse comportano che morirete di caldo a meno che non si accenda il condizionatore (opzionale e da pagare a parte 7 euro/giorno). Inoltre la vicinanza al bar implica che se anche solo un piccolo gruppo di persone decide di trattenersi la notte a chiacchierare ad uno dei tavolini, voi avete finito di dormire (come successo a me). Di questa stanza si salva solo il bagno, ampio e con una bella doccia. Tutt'altra storia la seconda camera utilizzata (sempre per la cronaca la 17), composta da due stanze e ricca di arredamenti funzionali, con un ampio terrazzo attrezzato di tavolo, sedie e stendino. Posta in posizione defilata rispetto al bar e al punto di passaggio garantisce una maggiore tranquillità e soprattutto la propria privacy. Il cucinino più ampio è ben attrezzato con anche un frigorifero più grande rispetto a quello della camera base. Nota dolente che accomuna le due stanze, il letto è durissimo e non concilia certo il sonno, con cuscini mignon anch'essi poco attraenti.
