Ampelos Wine Bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Poros

FAVORITE spot in Poros! Our large group had a wine tasting here, and it was one of the highlights of the trip! My husband and I stopped in early and were able to chat with Gikas and enjoy a great glass of wine prior to our groups tasting. From the start, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about wine! We thoroughly enjoyed his presentation during the tasting. All of the wines were delicious! Our favorites were Δασκαλιό Rose & PinoBlue.

George did a great job teaching us how to properly pour the wine and hold the bottle - he even let us try! His vibes were great & we all had SO much fun with him!

Tasos took amazing photos and videos during our tasting! He had incredible content and I can’t wait to see what he posts next!

Markos the owner was very welcoming and accommodating for our large group! Would highly recommend coming here and hope to make it...

Shame on me for not reviewing earlier (visited Sep ‘21)

The cutest spot, with the most intimate wine tasting with Giannis. We had missed him on the first night, but were well treated with service…. However we were keen to come back for a proper tasting the following night…. Oh gosh we are glad we did!

He is such a nice man, who just enjoys having you as company and for him feels an honor for you to taste his products.

The pours are generous, the value unbelievable and the experience memorable.

We would come back to Poros just to visit this wine bar again.

Note this isn’t a few wines dropped off at your seat, if capacity allows then he’ll sit you up on the bar and give you his full attention for what felt like an hour plus. Very special.

Operational hours are a lie - don’t bother going.

We found a pamphlet in town and walked to the old location - to realize on google maps it’s actually closer to the -areological museum. We walked all the way back on a Sunday around 1 pm - when it’s supposed to be open - and it was closed. We came back around 8:00 pm and it was reopened and nobody was in the store other than one man. He said he couldn’t give us the wine tasting as it was too late. DO NOT BOTHER COMING HERE - we tried contacting over Facebook without reply. Via email they replied an hour later saying they were open but didn’t specify they couldn’t provide wine tasting.
