Let's start with the location......if you go just before sunset, be prepared for the start of the senses overload ......the sun sinks between the hills in a perfect orange ball, silhoutting the boats bobbing on the waters edge ...look behind you and the moon will make an appearance, giving the water a silver edge. Once you've settled into the tavernas beautiful atmosphere, you then have the daunting task of what to choose from the menu. Each section will bring "ooh that's sounds nice" or "I'm definitely trying that!" If you can't make your mind up, ask a waiter who will gladly give you a detailed description and further suggestions. As an "eyes bigger than tummy" eater, I went for the tuna pate starter. and the beetroot. "BEETROOT?," I hear you say....yes. beetroot ....but it won't be beetroot like you've ever tested before! I'm not going to give too much away .....just try it As there were a number of us eating, we all had something as a starter, including traditional tarama dip, calamari and tuna pastrami......the tuna pastrami is out of this world . The main course included calamari and grilled prawns . The prawns were huge and grilled with fragrant herbs ...succulent and delicious.....(my mouth is watering just writing this!). The waiters were attentative but not hovering (you know what I mean) and whisked empty plates away promptly leaving more room on the table for the wine glasses to be refilled and to carry on nibbling your way through the food ....despite the fact you're probably full to bursting ! It truly is an outstanding taverna from all aspects....location, staff, cost. but most importantly, the quality of the food .
