Dama Dama — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Absolutely disgusted with the service and behaviour of staff and managment tonight. Arrived at 8.30 and ordered at 8.40. Waited over an hour and asked staff how long the meal would be. Given free starter as the wait was taking so long. Food finally arrived at 10.15 an hour and 45 after the order . They asked what we drinks we wanted 'on the house' as an apology for the wait. My 12 year old son was so hungry by this time, he ordered a rack of ribs to be served disected ribs in a bowl , on eating he became upset over the wait and becoming so hungry my partner had to leave the restaurant and leave his meal too. On paying the bill we informed the staff about the unacceptable wait and the bill didn't amount to what we had eaten. They wouldn't break down the bill in English and said as we were in Greece the bill is in Greek and wouldn't translate to English and said ' when you're in Greece you pay bill' very aggressively. We paid over the odds for the so called 'complimentary ' starter and drinks. Worst meal so far in pefkos and aggresive staff. Indifferent quality No doubt, Dama Dama has its moments. Lovely service, deals well with hygiene requirements in these pandemic days. But: the food quality is too volatile even in one meal. Especially the side dishes like vegetables are on a very low level. They seem to be factory produced and do not fit. Of course you can serve corn with a Kleftiko (lamb very well prepared), if you combine in it in a new way, but here it is just the standard side dish for everything and not even braised together. We ate here twice when in Rhodes in the summer and I thought I should really post a review as it was one of our favourite restaurants. The service was amazing - one of the people with me felt faint in the heat and with the ash (this was when the wildfires were going) and the staff were very accommodating to us and helping us get back to the hotel. One waitress was particularly good, as was the owner. The food was amazing, I recommend the pastitsio and the moussaka (hopefully both spelt right).
