Elvita Beach Bar Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We went for lunch, which was a nice experience. The food felt nice and the Danish waitress was absolutely fantastic, big smile and very service minded. She would be an asset to any restaurant.

We decided to return the same evening for dinner, and what a difference. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome, restaurant was maybe 15% full. Everything from taking our order to paying was unpleasant.

A few points.

Their lemonade is actually very nice. Fries with Elvita burger were cold. Schnitzel was, and no fresh lemon to squeeze on top, as one would expect. Seafood pasta dish has clams which were still closed, hinting at poorly cooked or bad clamps.

But the worst part, was the unfriendly waitress, not a single smile or hint at service. When we asked for rhe bill, she rolled her eyes and continued to sip her drink at the bar.

Lastly, their pricing and online pricing does not match. Granted, it was a difference of a few euro, so no big issues. But that might be like it was a challenge when we asked for the receipt.

Excellent location, but unfortunately let down by rude staff members. We visited for drinks and a bite to eat, arriving just before the kitchen was due to close. This immediately gave our waiter a rather unpleasant attitude when we attempted to place our order. If you’re unable to take any more orders, that’s perfectly understandable, but please don’t make customers feel guilty about it - just communicate clearly.

At the end of our meal, we had to negotiate to actually receive our bill, which is concerning as establishments should present this beforehand. Once we finally saw the bill and paid, the rude waiter spoke in Greek, sarcastically commenting that ‘these are the girls who made us close the kitchen late’ - clearly assuming we couldn’t understand. This was extremely distasteful, and when we asked in English what had been said, they dishonestly claimed the comment was positive.

The beach bar is located right by the sea, with a few sunbeds and umbrellas that you can hire at favourable rates. Much cheaper than most other beaches on the island. Great for families, young people and anyone else who wants to spend a chilled day/afternoon on the beach.

The food is varied and offers something for everyone: from delicious breakfasts to salads, tasty panini and delicious grilled dishes, there's everything.
