The worst place you could think of visiting. To be honest, I had this place saved on my list of recommended spots from TikTok, as someone mentioned it was in the Michelin guide. Since I was in Lindos, I thought it would be a good option for lunch. I was so disappointed I should’ve gone anywhere else.
They even tried to add dishes to my bill that I never ate. When they bring you the check, you have to go to the counter to pay, and there they present you with a bill that includes dishes you sent back because they tasted horrible. When you question them about it, they pretend it was a mistake and say they’ll give you the money back in cash. Very shady and unprofessional, it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced something like this.
Truly the worst experience and the worst place. The orzo pasta idk the Greek names tastes so bad they added a lot of cinnamon!! Have you tried a main course aka pasta with cinnamon ? Well here you will. Also tzatziki is the worst I’ve had in the entire life regardless of country Greece or not. It tastes like spoiled expired brewed vinegar idk what they add here. We sent it back to kitchen. Also staff are very questionable….. do yourself a favor, if you are on vacation go...
Read moreAfter ten nights in Lindos, Mavrikos answered my hopes of finding a traditional dining experience with tasty, local and fresh food. My partner and I felt we really saved the best til last as we dined here on our last night. Situated just off the town square, Mavrikos doesn’t have shiny rooftop views to boast about but the food and service is worth so much more. You’ll also enjoy some natural bustle and people watching, too. The front of house team here are clearly seasoned pros and made us feel comfortable, relaxed and looked after. We enjoyed an incredible meal that left us totally stuffed. The restaurant, unlike many others in Lindos, has specials boards which are well worth checking out for rotating menu items. We sampled the local Lindos shrimp, village bread made on site, a regional salad, goat ragout with parpadelle and rhodian kebab. We finished the meal with a pudding each - chocolate mousse and a lemon and sour cherry creation, respectively. Everything we ate was 5-star, so flavoursome and clearly made with real expertise and love, too. Meanwhile the prices are the same or even less than many of the more touristy spots you’ll find town. A must visit on your...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Mavrikos and it was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we walked in, the service was atrocious. The staff seemed completely disinterested and made us feel unwelcome. It was as if they were doing us a favor by letting us dine there.
The food was absolutely inedible.Everything tasted bland and overcooked, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I couldn't even finish my meal, it was that bad. It's clear the kitchen has no idea what they're doing.
To make matters worse, the atmosphere was tainted by the clear racism displayed by the staff. It was obvious they treated certain customers with disdain based on their ethnicity. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any setting, let alone a public restaurant.
Overall, mavrikos was a horrendous experience. Terrible service, disgusting food, and a toxic environment. They are not even a one star restaurant let alone a 4, so save your money and go anywhere...
