Went here twice last week, once for dinner and once in the day. Both times were pretty disappointing to be honest (everywhere else we went in Lindos was fantastic in contrast). Tambakio and St Paul's Bay is very pretty, but that's the best thing about it. There are so many other places locally that are run much better.

The first trip to Tambakio was for dinner. It's just not set up very well for waiting diners. There was no lighting at all for coming down the steep steps to get there. We arrived five minutes before our table and were told we could go to the bar....but there isn't really any space to wait there. You are basically either at the edge of someone else's dinner table or hovering near the toilets being asked to move by the waiters all the time (nowhere to sit at the bar).

The daytime experience was much worse though. We paid EUR90 for a cabana for the day. We constantly had to battle to stop other public beachgoers from encroaching in to our area though. We did ask staff at one point to ask a couple to stop putting their stuff on our cabana, but as soon as this couple was moved along, another couple took their place. We had to get up early and pay a lot of money to get a cabana, just so that people who turned up late and didn't pay anything get to use the same space and block our enjoyment of it. There should be better management of space, as we were having to step over a crowd of people to get in/out of our cabana and we were stuck in the shady part with no access to where the sunlight lay. In the end we gave up half way through the day and went to a much more peaceful beach down the road for a fifth of the price. Total waste of money paying for a sunbed/cabana at Tambakio. The service is virtually non existent too. Not once did a waiter come and check on us at the cabana and offer any drinks/food. I did complain to the manager when we left early but didn't really get anywhere.

Oh, and my order at lunch was incorrect.

Could be a nice place as it's very pretty, but...

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but was compelled to after the experience we just had at Tambakio.

Me and my wife stopped in for a light lunch, had our pick of tables which was lovely. Ordered drinks and food. We had a few appetisers - it is on the pricey side but is to be expected for a place such as this. The setting is obviously amazing.

Then it all started to go wrong - got around halfway through my drink before realising the glass was filthy and had lipstick stains all around the rim. The drink was replaced free of charge, and the waiter apologised - no harm done.

We were then left to wait an hour(!) for 3 appetisers, we asked the waiter if it was coming, and got ‘yes it’s coming’ - no apology for the delay. Another waiter then finally brought the food out - at least we thought it was ours, it turned out it was food for another table (seems both tables ordered one dish the same) and he dropped said dish off, then afterwards said it was actually for someone else’s table like it was our fault!

In this time, a table of 2 were seated behind us, ordered and ate their starters AND main courses!

The food did finally arrive, and was just above average - hummus was delicious, parmesan croquettes great but the calamari rings were soggy and tasteless. €7(!) for 4 bread rolls is a bit of a mickey take!

When we asked for the bill, we were told to just go up and pay, which seemed weird when everyone else was getting a normal bill brought to the table, which is just aswell because the guy handling the payments was the ONLY person to apologise for the delay and the bad experience. Still didn’t think to offer the removal of a dish though!

All in all, if i were you i’d save your money - yes the setting is beautiful and of course is part of the reason you go, but if you’re going for a good all around experience, save your money and do the 5 minute walk into lindos town where the offerings are...

IT'S A PUBLIC BEACH

I am writing this review to express my outrage at the treatment I received from the staff at Tambakio in St. Paul's Bay, Lindos.

Upon arriving at the beach, I was immediately greeted by a rude and aggressive member of staff who demanded that I pay for a sunbed and umbrella, even though the beach is public property. I explained that I was not interested in renting a sunbed or umbrella, but he refused to let me pass.

When I tried to reason with him, he became even more aggressive and started shouting at me. He told me that I was not welcome on the beach unless I paid him. I felt intimidated and threatened, so I had no choice but to pay his extortionate fee.

Once I had paid, I was finally allowed to sit on the beach. However, the staff continued to harass me throughout the day, demanding that I order food and drinks from their restaurant. When I refused, they became even more rude and dismissive.

I was absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated at Tambakio. The staff are rude, aggressive, and extortionate. They have illegally turned a public beach into their private resort and are charging tourists exorbitant fees for sunbeds, umbrellas, and food and drinks.

I would highly recommend avoiding Tambakio at all costs. There are many other beautiful beaches in Lindos where you can relax and enjoy yourself without being harassed by rude and aggressive staff.

I am also considering reporting Tambakio to the authorities for their...

If you’re looking for a truly special dining experience in Lindos, Tambakio is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem. Located right on St. Paul’s Bay, the setting is nothing short of breathtaking – soft sand, crystal-clear waters, and the iconic white chapel perched nearby. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between laid-back beachside charm during the day and an elegant, romantic vibe in the evening when lanterns and candles light up the shoreline. The food is a highlight in itself: Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a modern twist, beautifully presented and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Seafood is a must-try here – the grilled octopus, catch of the day, and signature prawns are especially memorable. Their wine list pairs wonderfully with the menu, and the cocktails are crafted with care. Service is attentive yet relaxed, always with a friendly smile that makes you feel welcome without being rushed. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can simply enjoy the view, the flavors, and the company. Whether you visit for a romantic dinner under the stars or a leisurely lunch by the water, Tambakio is one of Lindos’ most enchanting dining spots – a perfect blend of atmosphere, taste, and genuine Greek hospitality.

Just don't bother. This is not even about the money. I honestly don’t mind paying premium prices when the experience matches the cost. Here you pay €60 euros for regular beds and umbrella but then the quality of the experience does not justify it. Total mediocre. Only 1 toilet and it is the worse I've seen in Rhodes. Tiny and not clean, it needs refurb. Food is expensive but then what are they even trying to do. They have QR code for menu by the umbrellas but then you have to find a staff to order. And then like a joke your drink comes in take away coffee cups. So I asked why coctails are in glass but iced coffee and fresh lemonade that we ordered comes in take away cup. They said because it's glass so it's dangerous ahahha hilarious 🤣 sure, alcoholic drinks make the glass unbreakable. Anyway that made me laugh. This place is just hilarious. Please make it make sense. There were rubbish spread here and there too. What a waste of a gorgeous land. I feel like the owner has the money but no sense of service or attention to detail. This was the most expensive cheap experience ever. View is nice but not the most unique or anything. Water is beautiful everywhere in Rhodes so again not unique to this place. Just skip

We visited on the recommendation of friends and tripadvisor. The views are 5* but our experience was not. It started with the service, young men who just didn't seem to want to be there for the customers, more for having a laugh, one kept bumping into one of our chairs and just laughing about it rather than apologising and not doing it again. The food then came, the starters were OK but the chicken for the main was like rubber and the sea bass came whole without even been asked if we wanted it filleted. I then went to the toilet, there was only one unisex toilet and it was filthy, toilet roll everywhere and the bowl looked like it hadn't been cleaned all night even though when we complained the girl said it had been cleaned half an hour before. We then had a rat running around on the area where the cutlery and plates were stored, the staff were informed but just moved the plates to the side without wiping down the surface. We complained and said we weren't paying our bill. The young girl in charge then rang her mum who must be the owner. After my friend spoke to her mum we did not have to pay. My friends came last year and they said it was a 5* then but were very disappointed this time.
