Went here twice last week, once for dinner and once in the day. Both times were pretty disappointing to be honest (everywhere else we went in Lindos was fantastic in contrast). Tambakio and St Paul's Bay is very pretty, but that's the best thing about it. There are so many other places locally that are run much better.
The first trip to Tambakio was for dinner. It's just not set up very well for waiting diners. There was no lighting at all for coming down the steep steps to get there. We arrived five minutes before our table and were told we could go to the bar....but there isn't really any space to wait there. You are basically either at the edge of someone else's dinner table or hovering near the toilets being asked to move by the waiters all the time (nowhere to sit at the bar).
The daytime experience was much worse though. We paid EUR90 for a cabana for the day. We constantly had to battle to stop other public beachgoers from encroaching in to our area though. We did ask staff at one point to ask a couple to stop putting their stuff on our cabana, but as soon as this couple was moved along, another couple took their place. We had to get up early and pay a lot of money to get a cabana, just so that people who turned up late and didn't pay anything get to use the same space and block our enjoyment of it. There should be better management of space, as we were having to step over a crowd of people to get in/out of our cabana and we were stuck in the shady part with no access to where the sunlight lay. In the end we gave up half way through the day and went to a much more peaceful beach down the road for a fifth of the price. Total waste of money paying for a sunbed/cabana at Tambakio. The service is virtually non existent too. Not once did a waiter come and check on us at the cabana and offer any drinks/food. I did complain to the manager when we left early but didn't really get anywhere.
Oh, and my order at lunch was incorrect.
Could be a nice place as it's very pretty, but...
Read moreI don’t usually write bad reviews, but was compelled to after the experience we just had at Tambakio.
Me and my wife stopped in for a light lunch, had our pick of tables which was lovely. Ordered drinks and food. We had a few appetisers - it is on the pricey side but is to be expected for a place such as this. The setting is obviously amazing.
Then it all started to go wrong - got around halfway through my drink before realising the glass was filthy and had lipstick stains all around the rim. The drink was replaced free of charge, and the waiter apologised - no harm done.
We were then left to wait an hour(!) for 3 appetisers, we asked the waiter if it was coming, and got ‘yes it’s coming’ - no apology for the delay. Another waiter then finally brought the food out - at least we thought it was ours, it turned out it was food for another table (seems both tables ordered one dish the same) and he dropped said dish off, then afterwards said it was actually for someone else’s table like it was our fault!
In this time, a table of 2 were seated behind us, ordered and ate their starters AND main courses!
The food did finally arrive, and was just above average - hummus was delicious, parmesan croquettes great but the calamari rings were soggy and tasteless. €7(!) for 4 bread rolls is a bit of a mickey take!
When we asked for the bill, we were told to just go up and pay, which seemed weird when everyone else was getting a normal bill brought to the table, which is just aswell because the guy handling the payments was the ONLY person to apologise for the delay and the bad experience. Still didn’t think to offer the removal of a dish though!
All in all, if i were you i’d save your money - yes the setting is beautiful and of course is part of the reason you go, but if you’re going for a good all around experience, save your money and do the 5 minute walk into lindos town where the offerings are...

I am writing this review to express my outrage at the treatment I received from the staff at Tambakio in St. Paul's Bay, Lindos.
Upon arriving at the beach, I was immediately greeted by a rude and aggressive member of staff who demanded that I pay for a sunbed and umbrella, even though the beach is public property. I explained that I was not interested in renting a sunbed or umbrella, but he refused to let me pass.
When I tried to reason with him, he became even more aggressive and started shouting at me. He told me that I was not welcome on the beach unless I paid him. I felt intimidated and threatened, so I had no choice but to pay his extortionate fee.
Once I had paid, I was finally allowed to sit on the beach. However, the staff continued to harass me throughout the day, demanding that I order food and drinks from their restaurant. When I refused, they became even more rude and dismissive.
I was absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated at Tambakio. The staff are rude, aggressive, and extortionate. They have illegally turned a public beach into their private resort and are charging tourists exorbitant fees for sunbeds, umbrellas, and food and drinks.
I would highly recommend avoiding Tambakio at all costs. There are many other beautiful beaches in Lindos where you can relax and enjoy yourself without being harassed by rude and aggressive staff.
I am also considering reporting Tambakio to the authorities for their...
