As a couple who have eaten at multiple Michelin Star restaurants, we are perplexed as how to review. Should you not want to read the rest ... and in Lindos ... just go and enjoy the quirkiness and fabulous service.
All began for us with me and leg surgeries and not wanting to go down the hill again to Lindos, where we already had eaten at several good, but not great restaurants. There was only one option: the Ice Bar, across from the main bus stop.
It looked like such a dreadful place -- bright pink light beams, kiddo entertainment screens, sport TVs ... pretty much the disdain of anyone searching for good food.
And then magic ... the hand crafted drinks and first appetizers came and they were pretty amazing. Then the main courses -- wow. And we are not talking the typical fish and lamb dishes served in Lindos proper, but very much elevated cuisine. Of course, all was topped off with a "covid-19" -- a chocolate ball spiked with curled pastries and douced in berry sauce.
Sort of blown away, but not ones to dally, we had dinner at most of the top places in Lindos town ... but for our final Friday night, we absolutely came back to the Ice Bar. Yeah, awkward name, awkward location and arguably awkward concept BUT supreme service and food at a fair price.
All really does not make sense -- like Michelin service and food in a bus stop diner ... but the creme la creme were the two hour live sessions starring good local rock bands.

Read moreTerrible service withlong waits but amazing food so worth it in my opinion. There is one lovely waiter who is very attentive, especially now we have been more than once! Couldn't be bothered walking into lindos and this is right next to our hotel, the menu all sounds amazing so knew I wanted to try it. I have been twice & both times super impressed. The attention to detail & presentation of the dishes is beautiful, they really make it a work of art but the portions are still decent! You must try the seafood saganaki, it's a starter but huge I had with a portion of potatoes & left a very happy girl. 2 giant prawns, shrimp, mussels, octopus, crab, & loads of very thinly sliced tender squid, was one of the best things I have ever eaten! My partner and little boy had the pizza which were also lovely. Reasonably priced 60eur for the 3 of us including drinks and olives . Returned with the family, all raved about their meals, lamb chops , gyros, fresh fish & risotto! Forcing myself to go elsewhere or I would probably just eat here everynight. Perhaps somebody to greet and seat so that service is more attentive would help rather than staff running round all tables/not realising who has been seated when. Other than that I can promise its...
Read moreMyself and my husband originally were only going to go to the ice bar for one drink, it was so nice we stayed for a meal after. The ice bar itself was amazing. For €14 each we were able to hire a big warm poncho and received a cocktail of our choice in the cup made of ice. Sock and gloves were available to buy. There was blankets and pillows all over so you didn't have to sit on the bare ice. There was beautiful details carved in to the ice with nice lighting through out. We had the choice to stay as long as we wanted and to buy more drinks if we wanted. One of the members of staff stayed with us for safety reasons. He was very friendly and welcoming and chatted to us for a while. Afterwards we decided to stay for a meal. The food and service were amazing. Local cuisine was brilliant, so tasty. There was the choices for steak and western foods too. Although it wasn't cheap, it was definitely worth the money. So glad...
