Very weird place! You go in early at 8:30-9:00 am and you sit down on one of the tents and a sun-bed. Turns out the working hours are completely incorrect with the beach cafe where the sun-beds are managed (they open at 10:00 by their words). Guess what, they are not open yet. You ask the people from the place that walk around and they say “sit down, it’s fine”. You wait patiently until it opens, people walking around from staff, nobody says a thing. At 9:40 a lady turns up and starts putting down reserved signs.

Meanwhile we are in the gorgeous waters of the bay taking a swim and she says that this particular tent is reserved. I go out of the water and say to her: “sure, no problem are the ones nearby reserved?” She says yes and I go to move my stuff on a normal sun-bed at the back of the tents.

Guess what! Turns out that the entire beach, except the ones near the road at the very back are not reserved. Keep in mind, when we came in the morning there were a couple of reserved signs dotted around so we thought the rest of them were available. On top of that all the beach is reserved for the next 5 days ahead!

I am not even going to comment on the absurd fee they charge for 50€ per sun-bed near the pavement at the back (I can’t imagine what the fee is upfront), but this management is absolutely unacceptable. I understand that everything is booked, that is not the issue, but you either have to block the customer from entering early, fix your working hours or prepare everything before and not just scatter some signs around and discern people!!! At 10:00 or 10:30, good luck finding another place to sit down at another beach!

The waters are spectacular, but the cafe management is atrocious, keep my story in mind when...

If you are an impair number, forget directly that place. The one “managing” (if we can say that) is absolutely rude and not comprehensive. He is just saying it is only 2 sunbeds per umbrella and you are not allowed to move one… but you can be on one at an umbrella very far of your friends or family or be seated 2 on the same one to still be all together… being honest what does it changes to move one or to be seated on one? He doesn’t want to understand and treating you very rude. This is the second time we are going to that place and second time we have bad experience with him. Last year he even asked a mum who just wanted to sit 5 minutes to give food to her baby to leave the place or pay 10 euros because she left a bag on the second sunbed… there was only few people on the sunbeds this day so she was just not annoying anyone… a bit more of comprehension, not trying to only make money and being a bit more...

But how could i rate such a stunning and beautiful beach with only 2 stars?

Quite simply due to the fact that this really should be listed as a private beach not a public one. The fact that it is rammed so tightly with sunbeds means the only way to enjoy this beach (where every inch of sand is covered in a bed) means that you really couldn't enjoy it's true beauty. It also means the only way that you could visit it would be to pay £40 plus for a bed.

All beaches should have the majority of the beach available for the public to sit on without paying for the pleasure, but this one like some of the others in Greece is being exploited for profit.

An additional downside is that to make it worth £40+ for the sunbed rental you would need to spend the day there so I also wouldn't recommend this place for a short visit as there honestly isn't...

€20 to rent two loungers and an umbrella at this lovely small beach, or €50 for one of the larger ones with curtains. By about 12pm it was starting to fill up and people were struggling to find space, bit it didn't feel too crowded as you can only really come on the beach if you pay for a lounger. Staff were pleasant. The sea was really calm and fairly clear, although we had spent the day before at the larger Lindos beach, where it was €15 for loungers and the sea was clearer. But that could have just been the day. There was generally more space at Lindos beach too I thought. There is also only one quite fancy bar/restaurant on Saint Paul's Beach, whereas Lindos beach has a few different options, as well as being close to shops. Saint Paul's was lovely but personally I'd sooner return to the main Lindos beach.

The view is amazing, you’re no more than 30 seconds from the warm, near crystal clear water on a sandy beach. It’s laid back. The bar in the bay plays quiet ambient music that doesn’t disturb. (Quite expensive) Drinks can be ordered, too, from waiters walking by. I recommend getting there before midday when there are spots free. It gets busier after 12 and you may not find anywhere you sit after 2. Just walk down from the nearby car park and find a lounger. The parasol (or two loungers for two people) is €10. Someone will come around and ask for you to pay. There’s a shower after you’ve been swimming, (50c) toilets as well as occasional scuba diving lessons nearby. Expect the ubiquitous Greek cricket hum and perfect weather for swimming and enjoying the sun.
