Excellent bar and restaurant in Lindos. The drinks are a little bit on the expensive side but the food prices are reasonable. Regardless of cost, we enjoyed everything about Yannis Bar.
The waitress was friendly and prompt. The bar staff were also friendly. We had 2 Aperol Spritz which were delicious but cost 12€ each! The average price across Rhodes, based on places we'd been to, was around 8€ for an Aperol Spritz. So 12€ is a bit expensive, but you tend to find that in "fancier" bars. The food (Diavola Pizza and a Chicken Burger) was very good. The cheese on the pizza was delicious (wish I'd asked what it was) and tasted nothing like a pizza in the UK. We really enjoyed our food and it was reasonably priced at 13€ for the pizza and 14€ for the Chicken burger.
The location is fantastic and we could've happily sat here all day drinking cocktails in the sun. There's plenty of seating and a nice chilled vibe, it was great. I'd definitely visit Yannis Bar again and recommend it if...
Read moreOrdered the "London Mule" for €14 at Yannis Bar Lindos – what arrived was essentially a skinny glass with a giant rectangular ice cube doing its best impression of a drink. Picture a cocktail glass where the ice cube is the main character and the actual cocktail is just a cameo appearance.
Four tiny sips later, I was done. The "cocktail" had all the alcohol punch of flavored water and the visual appeal of a science experiment gone wrong. When we questioned this architectural marvel of ice-to-liquid engineering, the manager defended it as "quality cocktail" with "good ice."
According to him, we are the problem -- we just don't understand the sophisticated art of paying €14 for premium frozen water with a gin garnish.
Unless you're really thirsty for overpriced ice cubes with a hint of gin, I'd recommend spending your €14 elsewhere. Save your money and buy a bag of ice from the convenience store – at least you'll get more volume...
Read moreThe place is beautiful and the drinks tasty and reasonably priced, didn’t really eat so I don’t have an opinion on the food. However, they did turn off the music about 30’ after we arrived although the bar is supposed to close way later according to their google working hours (maybe it has to do with the law but a heads up before we sit would be nice as it was very awkward to hear every table’s conversation), that wasn’t the biggest issue though.
We asked to pay separately by card as we are a group of people coming from different countries and the waiter told us it’s not possible twice. After explaining to him that we he should’ve have informed us about this earlier because for us it was impossible to pay in a different way he was able to take our request but was very visibly annoyed and didn’t even bother to say “thank you” or “goodbye” (of course we did). Staff can really make or break...
