We offered to pay for drinks, the waiter said no. Your food looks good? Are you sure 🤣 ashamed of myself for leaving an honest review? You really need to question your management skills and the quality of your food love.
We were very shocked by the poor service and food here considering it was recommended in Marco Polo Rhodes book.
We were served by a boy who looked no older than 16, I asked whether the Risotto Milanese is vegetarian as traditionally, it is not. He said he would check with the chef but never did- we were sat next to the kitchen and could hear every conversation.
The drinks came promptly and the fans were lovely. When the food came I was instantly dismayed- the carbonara was not creamy, it was wet and sloppy, the bacon was undercooked and it didn’t not look appetising at all. The risotto Milanese was more of a soup than a risotto and the flavour was all wrong. 3 mouthfuls and I was done, it was inedible.
When the waiter came to speak with us, the chef overheard and came out asking what was wrong and I told him what I have put above. He said I don’t know where you’ve eaten this before but this is how it’s done. Big error, I have grown up in Italy and have eaten hundreds of carbonaras and risottos. Very very unprofessional.
The waiter apologised for the chefs behaviour and told us we did not have to pay for the food which I was very thankful for as it was not worthy...
Read moreWe ate here at the start of our holiday, the food was ok - nothing special or outstanding. However as we were seated at the table I moved my chair in and my finger was trapped between the chair frame and seat top when seated as the top was loose. This caused a severe injury. The head lady was quite attentive and helped me to the toilet to try and stop the bleeding. We got the bleeding controlled, she sent a young girl to the pharmacy twice - first for Elastoplast then, second time on our recommendation for a bandage, as the Elastoplast were no use for the severity of the injury- the restaurant did not have a First Aid Kit. This injury has caused a lot of pain and change to our holiday as I am a keen swimmer and unable to get the injury wet. I am posting this as the incident could have been avoided if the owners had done some simple checks. When we left the restaurant the proprietor, who had been sitting at a table next to ours all the time, made a fuss about how good my husband ( a trained First Aider ) had bandaged my injury, he made no attempt to ask how I was feeling, what was the injury like and what were we going to do or could he do anything for us - it was a big...
Read moreThe food is not good, but it is not the main point. And on top of the end of the evening, we were scammed by the waiter ! After dinning we walked down the stairs to pay, and there, the waiter invented the price without giving us any note. We see that the amount is wrong, so he answered that the « good price is not written on the menu », (he added 1€ to each plate compared to the menu). Then he asked if we really want these 2€ ? The amount was still not good, there was in total 5€ difference. We told him, and he answered that it is because the glass of prosecco was 9,5€ and not 8€, but he wrote 8€ on his hand ticket as well when he tried to explain us his overpriced scam in a tricky way just before !!!!
