Taverna Kamariko — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

A very authentic Greek taverna, with friendly staff, excellent service and amazing food !!! ... The restaurant is very traditional in appearance, and has a roof top terrace where diners are treated to an unobscured view of the acropolis which is lit up and lovely at night.

I actually searched this place out after reading reviews and was not disappointed. The servings are very healthy in size. It's also value for money. They even gave us a free desert ( a lindos orange type cake ) which I must admit I was struggling to eat with feeling so full !! However it was a small piece which was lovely and I managed to push through. I probably couldve got by on that meal for a week !!! Lol..

Anyway if you want a pretentious type restaurant which is all about where your seen rather than the food, perhaps this isn't for you, but if you want a great setting, with authentic Greek food which is delicious and great value then I'd happily recommend this...

The place was nice so we thought why not try it, there was TripAdvisor stickers around saying it's an excellent place. Ordered the food which an okay decent price, a little more than we where used to pay here on Rhodes, but that's fair since there is a lot of tourist here. Took half an hour before the starters came, small portion so it went away quickly. So quickly that I didn't even manage to take the picture because everybody was so hungry. When the main courses came after 15 more min. (people who came after us got the order before us) it was under average. My lamp was okay.. A bit dry but I could accept it. Vegetable tasted old and from cans. The chicken ribs didn't contain any ribs. Tomato with mold was served. Waiter was expressing mad behavior because his order phone broke down. In general nok friendly. Price was exclusive of tax. Which we didn't experience when we were in lindos, so dunno if it's normal practise here....

Offered a table on our arrival and while it was being cleaned they offered it to someone else and offered us a worse table. We left. You reply is not correct, we arrived and asked for a table you offered us a table that was being cleaned. As we were waiting you offered it to a couple that were already seated and drinking wine. You never once mentioned you had to offer the table to someone else. The people moving even apologised to us and took the table. You then said we could have their discarded table and then just walked away leaving us standing there. No apology, no explanation. That is very bad service, we stood for a while and was completely ignored so we left. That is exactly what happened. We are here for over a month and was recommended to you by.our hotelier. We will not be back and have mentioned the service to others. On a plus we went somewhere else and sat on the rooftop and enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal...
