I don’t like leaving poor reviews but I don’t feel the majority of reviews reflect the food here. First the positives - the setting is lovely, a big open space which is nicely decorated and has an outdoor bar. The service was reasonable. But the food was as far from authentic as it gets. I’ve spent long periods of time working and travelling in Thailand and am very familiar with the food. The papaya salad was made with ripe papaya which was cut into large chip shaped slices. I can almost forgive this as I appreciate the challenge of getting green papaya in Greece, but it wasn’t spicy as it should be and lacked any depth of flavour. Next up the pad Thai, which was easily the worst pad Thai I’ve ever had (and I’ve eaten my own body weight of this dish!). Pretty much just boiled rice noodles with a bit of oil. Just white on the plate and a little patch of brown sugar and tiny bit of dried chili on the side. No lime, no peanuts, no tamarind, no bean shoots, no soy. All available in Greece. The bbq chicken was ok, but it wasn’t marinated at all - just wings with a dipping sauce. Go for drinks but the food is...
Read moreI absolutely loved this Thai restaurant in Serifos. Tucked away from the busy main road in Livadi, it offers a serene setting with a beautiful garden that becomes even more enchanting at night with its soft, ambient lighting. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated at the bar, which turned out to be a fantastic experience. From there, we had a wonderful view of the entire garden and could watch the skilled bartenders at work.
The drinks were outstanding—our Thai daiquiri and Mai Tai were perfectly crafted. The food was equally impressive; we savored every bite of the spicy chicken wings, pad thai, and pad see ew. While the restaurant is slightly more expensive than other options on Serifos, it's absolutely worth it for the quality and atmosphere.
A tip for future diners: since the dishes might not all arrive at the same time, it’s a good idea to share everything, making the meal a more communal and...
Read moreWe went to Blue Bamboo attracted by the positive reviews and for a “break” from Greek food, after 10 days in Greece. We love Thai food, we used to live in Asia and travel to Thailand on a regular basis. They claim to be ‘authentic’ Thai, so our expectations were high. Once we got there the place was packed and they asked us to come back at 11.30pm or after 2 days.. We eventually managed to be seated at the bar counter. Overall the ambience was cool, nice decor and atmosphere with pleasant lounge beats in the background. But that was it. We ordered very typical dishes such as Tam Yam soup, pineapple fried rice, curries and it tasted anything but Thai. The food looked good in appearance, but nothing further than that. Food was overly saucy or greasy e.g. way too much use of coconut milk or tamarind sauce. go there for the drinks and not the food.. Price / quality is just...
