We had high hopes for our final night on Sifnos, but this dinner was a letdown from start to finish. A group of eight children shouting at the next table forced us to move after a migraine set in—and frankly, a restaurant operating at this level should never allow such excessive noise to go unchecked. The food was far below the standard of the six other restaurants we dined at during our stay: flavors were flat, execution careless, and presentation uninspired. Service (with the exception of the kind woman seating guests) was inattentive to the point of absurdity—we had to repeat an order four times before it arrived. The toilets were dirty to an unhygienic extent — and while we understand it’s on the beach, the accumulation of sand was far beyond anything justifiable. Even the restaurant next door, which wasn’t our favorite, offered far better food and a calmer, more enjoyable atmosphere. Maybe it’s good enough for tourists ticking off Greek islands, but certainly not for anyone with a sincere interest in culinary quality. An unfortunate ending to an otherwise exceptional culinary trip. This is a restaurant that, frankly, feels out of place in Sifnos—or anywhere that prides itself...
Read moreWent there for our last evening on the island of Sifnos, had made a reservation after picking up their business card on the hotel reception of our hotel. We were the only guests when we arrived, still we were given two tables to choose from app. 20 tables. Had a table on the beach, great view of the bay but be aware that there are little sand flies all over the table when the sun goes down. Please note it is of extreme advantage of fluently speaking greek, as the waiter tried his best but became increasingly frustrated as he tried to find words in English to describe the six Specials of the evening. That led to him advertising a special dish for 23€ that he also apologised was off the regular menu where it cost 16€.....yes exactly the same dish (beef stew with local pasta). The food itself was good, but nothing to write home about....well, the looks including the 'zorro' of Truffle mayonnaise were not matching the taste. Alltogether on our vacation visiting 3 cycladic islands plus Athens in 14 days it was with 87€ for us 2 (1 starter, 2 mains, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer and 1 soft drink) the most expensive, but by far not the best meal we had. Not bad,...
Read more10/10 would recommend! Wow, what a beautiful place! Even if you don’t sit down for a full meal, just take one of the comfy cushions by the water and order a drink and enjoy the view, the sand underneath your feet and the sound of the water. But if you do choose to have dinner at this magnificent restaurant, I recommend sitting underneath the beautiful tamarisks where the light fixtures are single light bulbs hanging in the gorgeous trees. The music is at an agreeable volume where you are still able to hear the surroundings and especially the waves. At your table you will be greeted by a very well trained and super attentive staff with the specials of the day. Our server made sure the wine and water was being poured and that the food was to our liking. Now, the food is honestly divine. The dishes are perfectly cooked and well seasoned with sauces and dressings that are to die for. The portions are perfect and the wine list has great options in all price categories. All in all a wonderful place that makes you feel comfortable and well taken care of. We will return for more tasty food and...
