Our visit to Limanakia was a mix of highs and extreme lows, but unfortunately, the lows far outweighed the highs.
The Choriatiki Greek salad we ordered was the first disappointment. While it was visually appealing, the taste was underwhelming, and it was shockingly overpriced. A small bowl of average vegetables coated in oil for such a steep price left a bad taste in our mouths right from the start.
We hoped the seafood would redeem our experience, but that hope quickly faded. The two pieces of allegedly fresh calamari tasted stale and unremarkable. Most of the calamari was not fresh, though it wasn't rubbery. The sauce served with the calamari was dreadful—a mix of oil and honey that melted into an unappetizing mess.
The 300 grams of small fish were mostly bones, with little meat to enjoy. The Galeos was a particular letdown—dry, overcooked, and unpleasant. The Barbounia fish was served without any oil, making it dry and flavorless.
To be fair, some elements of our meal were acceptable. The presentation of the dishes was nice, and the ambiance of the restaurant had potential. However, these minor positives couldn't justify the exorbitant 124 euro bill we received for what was mostly subpar food.
In the end, Limanakia's few redeeming qualities weren't enough to make up for the overall disappointing and overpriced experience. It's not somewhere we'll be rushing back to...

We came at 1:30pm which I think most would agree is lunch time. We asked for Horta (8euro, which is pricey to start with) only for the waitress to come back later and tell us it wasn’t ready so could we pick another salad (which I understood as perhaps they didn’t have any, so okay). So we got a Greek salad which was 12 euros.
The Greek salad was small for the price, and quite dry - there was hardly any olive oil on it. It sucked.
When we went up to pay after probably a 45min - 1hr lunch break I saw they had a huge pot of Horta on the boil (!). This I believe is bad service - to not make something as simple as Horta available for your guests when you would be putting it on within an hour anyway on a really quiet day ( the restaurant was not busy), and then to make us pay more for something else which wasn’t even that great.
I’m sure the other food on the menu was nice, but for a pricey restaurant, you should really nail the basics and show a bit of care for your customer. There are definitely better spots...

To Limanaki is an absolute treasure. Nestled by the sea, this charming taverna offers everything you hope for in an authentic Greek dining experience — and then some.
The seafood was exceptional. Fresh fish grilled to perfection, tender calamari, and a variety of meze that showcased the best of traditional Greek flavors. Every bite tasted like it came straight from the morning’s catch. The fava, octopus, and taramosalata were especially memorable — simple, honest, and delicious.
The service was just as impressive. Warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, the staff made us feel instantly at home. They were more than happy to recommend their specialties and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish.
And the best part? To Limanaki is excellent value for money. Generous portions, top-quality ingredients, and fair prices — a rare combination these days.
We left full, happy, and already planning our return. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy real Greek hospitality and amazing...
