I made a reservation at 21:30 for a date with my girlfriend thinking that will be something romantic on the sand near beach but it turned into something horrible specially about the food and the check. My gf orderd seafood rissoto and I ordered some carbonara. Both of us waited for about 2 hours meanwhile they put bread and some sauce that we didn't ordered and it costed 13€ for some bread a little sauce as a starter 13€ for something i didnt ordered but at least it was a little tasty. For drinks she ordered a mojito, it was ok and I ordered a "special" whoskey that costed 12€. I don't know what was that special about it cause it was like a spit in my glass without ice and it was warm, I've had to "steal" from my Gf some ice. Now back to the food, hell on earth, my pastas were just boiled with some butter and some ham, can you imagine eating only boiled pastas with butter? Me neither, i couldn't eat it it was disgusting. My Gf didn't have any rissoto there, it was some rice with cheese I think and one "peasant" shrimp. We both looked at each other afyer first bite and thinked it was somethin bad. After another 2 hours came because i signaled him and told us "why not eat all?" I'm not that kind of person to argue and stuff like that and told him it was just big portions that's why. I think he got that it was horrible and "from the house" came with two little desserts which they were ok. The note in total was 70€ for something i didn't eat and some stuff I didn't ordered, except my "special" whiskey and my gf mojito. I will totally avoid this place next time. I regret making a reservation here thinking I will have a...
Read moreLovely atmosphere, very slow service especially inconvenient if you have hungry children. The reason why we took a table was because one of the head waiters assured us that they had spaghetti bolognese. After they brought us our ‘obligatory’ entrees they told us that spaghetti bolognese was not on the menu. So we ordered spaghetti with tomato sauce and plain spaghetti, a seafood platter for 2 , fried potatoes, tzatziki, tomato and cucumber ( not Greek salad) salad and a small bottle of ouzo. We ended up paying €98,80 for what?
The spaghetti the children had was ONE portion split into 2. The tomato sauce was tasteless. The plain spaghetti had NO olive oil or butter and €9.80 and €9 respectively was a total rip off! The fried potatoes were also half the portion we saw served in neighboring tables. Of course no complementary dessert, which is the norm, especially in restaurants like this. We paid €20 extra for 4 adults on Nisyros a couple of years ago and it was absolutely worth the prime seafood and fish dishes we had, with 2 bottles of wine.
A total disappointment on an otherwise...
Read moreThe best things in life seem to come unexpectedly and certainly unplanned, some of which I could list here if this were an autobiographic novel and not a review for a hidden gem on the Eastern part of Sithonia, the middle leg of Chalkidiki. We were visiting Northern Greece planning to hike in the mountains. Then, within 3 days the sun shone brighter and the temperature rose higher so we went towards the direction of our noses, as the Dutch say. And with a mix of curiosity and literal hunger we came by Ormos Panagias for a bite and drinks and we stayed! Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, mezzé and everything in between is on the menu - pun intended 😁 Difficult to choose and highlight but the Flower Supermoon shone light on octopus-patties, seafood risotto, “pikilía” variety of cold appetizers and the scrumptious breakfast buffet for the hotel residents. Have a look at some of my photos. If you will excuse me, I’m heading for a swim and then for a siesta at the...
