Easily the best beach bar I have seen lately not only in Chalkidiki, but in all of Greece. The water in Trani Amouda is FABULOUS - all that you expect when you visit Chalkidiki!
The staff is very nice, polite & fast. All things considered, even the occasional mishap or delay was absolutely justified and gracefully handled. A note though, there should be more staff both down at the beach and especially at the restaurant for lunch. For the amount of people that were accepted for lunch, there should be two waiters with 2 assistants and not only one and one. Coffee was great, I absolutely loved the coffee blend used. Biggest highlights were: The energy yoghurt bowl, which was ideal for breakfast. From the lunch menu the best dishes were: The grilled calamari & the fried zucchini The shrimp kritharoto (orzo with shrimps) was disappointing, since it was flooded in oil, but I only tried it once, so maybe it was a coincidence that it was that disappointing.
The sun beds are fabulous, they seemed quite new, are very comfy & were kept clean. Also there are 2 showers, however in one of the two the knob to slower the flow of the water was broken.
The restrooms were kept clean for the biggest part of it, one thing that seemed to be missing is a third room for kids & to change babies, especially for a beach bar which seemed to attract a lot of families.
There is parking just behind the beach bar, however even though it was not busy you could see that a lot of the clientele were parking their cars on the street, creating traffic jam and making traffic harder in front of the beach bar.
There was a little - out of tune - point which is the price of water, and specifically of sparkling water. Since all that is offered is imported sparkling water, a big bottle of 1L served at 7 EUR and of 250 ml at 4 EUR, is too much. Particularly because at an other restaurant 1km away, the same branded 1L bottle of sparkling water (same brand) costs almost half the price. Another excellent alternative would be, have Greek brands of sparkling water when possible.
Talking about prices, the set of sun beds has a minimum spent of 30 EUR per set and no extra charge fro the sun beds/ umbrellas. And the minimum spent can also be from consumption at the restaurant. There are also other options - i believe the first line is 60 EUR minimum spent and I think can accommodate up to 4 pax & lastly a few other sets have minimum spent 100 EUR. Since I visited the place a few times, I confirm that with the prices of the beach bar having coffee and maybe sth to lunch, you easily get to the minimum 30 EUR for 2 people!
There are 2 things left to see, both next year, 1. If the beach bar will keep the good quality of their facilities, doing any needed maintenance & replacements If they will invest in having more staff so that you do not feel bad asking things when the waiters/waitresses are...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic! The food is very tasty and the staff is friendly. They all speak English at different levels but the ones you mostly interact with speak English pretty well.
The prices are for everyone. You don't have to pay for the beach bed, you just have to consume something from their bar depending on the row you want to stay on.
So, in September 2024 it was like this, first row, minimum consumption of 50€ , second row is 40€, third row is 30€ and everything else is 20€. They gave some special beds on a side that are around 70€ but there can stay 6 people. I heard that in full season the prices are higher. Important note, the beach beds are amazingly comfortable. The mattresses are pretty thick which makes them awesome!
I can definitely recommend the burgers which are delicious, the Greek salad and the Greek coffee which has a special taste. It definitely deserves a try.
The atmosphere is very relaxed, perfect to chill with a beer or a cocktail and get a tan.
My only complaint would be that the Big Draft of beer is presented in the menu as 500 ml and I don't think is even close of 500 ml. More like 350, maybe 400 and it costs 7 €. I did not measure it, but go get a 500 ml draft beer at a Taverna and then here and you'll see the difference.
Anyway the organization of the place is amazing, someone takes your order, someone else brings you the order and somebody else is constantly walking around to clean the tables so there's always enough space and no garbage around. If you're an early bird like we are, around 7:30 there's somebody racking the sand and cleaning around so at 9 when it opens everything is clean and ready.
Reservations aren't necessary during the week days I would say but if you're in a group and want to stay together or you're coming during the weekends, it's better to make reservations otherwise you won't find a spot in the first 3 rows.
Some rules that we were informed about, food from outside is prohibited and hanging your clothes or towels on the inside of the umbrella is also prohibited (probably because it blocks the view to the sea of the ones behind you). Also if you choose a place and the staff notes that you stay there and after that you want to move anywhere else, infom the staff before you do it. They always need to know which beds are free and which are occupied.
So, overall the best beach bar I've been to until now and really felt amazing...
Read moreThis bar has, by far, the best customer service in the area. This is our second year at Sithonia, and no other beach bar comes even close to La Luna. Yes, there's a minimal consumption, but trust me - it's worth of it. You'll pay or spend more or less the same amount at other places for sunbeds or food and drinks only, but You'll never find such a great service. There's always an employee (usually a friendly, welcoming girl with a smile on her face) going around the sunbeds, taking orders, and You'll get your order from the waitress in matter of minutes. I don't know if there's online ordering, and whether it's working or not - You won't need that, and it would be almost a blasphemy to criticize a lack of that feature. There's a guy constantly walking around and picking up your mess, cleaning the beach and matresses. You can get additional umbrella for the kid(s). There's also a chair, beside sunbeds. There are toilets and showers. Wi-fi is working just fine. There's a menu accessible on your phone via QR code. On the other note, it can get crowded, and there's little to no privacy, but both the bar and the beach are popular and You'll probably used to crowded places by now. Both food and drinks served on the beach are great, at least by our own experience. There's a restaurant (in-bar) service as well, with additional meals and drinks that we didn't try yet, but according to other reviews I'd say that it's a right place to have a launch or break. Kudos to employees! You're doing...
