The best beach in Sithonia, even in the whole Chalkidiki. I will never search for another cause this is perfect for kids. Nice, sandy beach, clean and shallow water,u can walk for meters and depth is about 1-1,5m. Not to crowded, Greeks with families, but during weekends - Serbians,Romanians,Bulgarians and Macedonians are there too,but it is very quiet even then. 2 km walk are the remains of ancient Byzantine fortress, called Pyrgou by the locals. We stayed in private apartment, but if u are a fancy styled there are 2-3 smaller luxury hotel apartments, pools, parking etc....saw there British and Germans...Slovenians,Czechs,and ours Polski bratanki rather like camping closer to Pyrgou, see my pics. The best sandy beach,do not look for another. UPDATE 2024: This is nowhere near the beautiful beach it used to be. Too many bars, everything is overbooked, unbearable crowds. We used to come here for years, but we stopped. There's no peace anymore. The regular tourists are huddled on the north side by the rock with the goats. We won't be...
Read moreThe beach is beautiful! It gets deep pretty fast and may not be the best for very little children. The 1 star review is for the people that run the beach and the town. Keeping reading…. There are no bathrooms in the area. There is one porta potty and it’s locked and only available for anyone renting a chair. We chose to sit in the sand and did not rent a chair. We were told that the bathroom was for paying customers only and to take up the issue of public toilets with the town. So you essentially have to pay to rent a chair and to use the bathroom. In a town that runs on tourism there are no available services for tourists. Everything shouldn’t be about making a quick buck off of the people visiting. I would suggest going elsewhere in the area, there are many beaches and...
Read moreI had an awesome 8 days straight of Vacation, in which I beached here on Livrohio from lunch till late evening everyday. After going to many beaches on Islands & Others in Greece, this one seems to be my favourite. There is an inflatable waterpark nearby. Multiple bars around the beach, and a good amount of parking spots. Sellers walk by the entire beach all day carrying big trays of Donuts, Corn & Others. There are some pebbles on the bottom of the sea near the shore, but when you go about 20 or so meters in, the bottom gets fine & sandy. The Aegean Melanoura Seabream swims in the water, and they can harmlessly bite off the scabs on your legs if you stand still in the water. Also, important to mention, it is very shallow and thus very nice for the...
