I don't know if it was bad moment or not, but I would say that our experience was not the one we expected. We were walking around and the place grabbed us with the nice atmosphere and what we saw in the menu, so we decided to sit there. The man in the front welcomed us, asking us to wait for 5 mins, so we waited, then sat and a person from the staff immediately cleaned our table, put plates and glasses and that's it - so far, so good. But then... we had to wait for around 10 mins someone to give us menu, then the waiter came and gave us 1 (we were 4 person in total) and disappeared. Then, we had to wait for around 25 mins, waiving our hands, hoping someone will come to take our order, etc. Then, the waiter came, everybody ordered starters and main courses, only I ordered only starters as I needed some more time to decide what I want to have as a main, but after he took our order it was almost impossible to order something else as I was left without menu and he was so busy with the rest of the clients. And then.. the first portion of zucchini (out of 2) arrived (before even our drinks were served), after 5 mins we got our wine, and so on and so on. We had 2 questions but it appeared that whoever we wanted to talk with didn't speak English (except for the waiter). As the night went on, we saw that other people were having problems with their bills, so before asking for ours, we decided to check what the waiter has on ours so far, and that was a good decision, because there were some bread we didn't order (which we know is traditional for Greece, but either way it didn't arrive) and also, the second portion of zucchini which I will only dream about. He removed them before it was too late, we got our bill and that's it. We don't blame the waiter - he was giving his best, having in mind that he was responsible for taking the orders of the whole place, but for the management - you can't put only one person in that position and have 3 other persons who are supposed to help him, but they don't speak English, so communication is hard and it also seems that they prefer smoking cigarettes, rather than cleaning the...
Read moreI have tried all 3 restaurants in Ormos of Panagia and this is the last I would recommend. It is the most expensive, with the smallest portions, which I would not mind if the taste was extraordinary - then it would just be an upscale place, but it was not. The food was mediocre, I would say. Tiganita kalamarakia costed 14€ and the portion you get is tiny (see photo). We got like 7 small rings, closer to the tail of calamari, which were tough to chew. I thought this was a half-finished plate from another table. Kolokithokeftedes and gavros were okay and the fried potatoes were indeed great! The wine was of bad quality (full of sulfates and too acid for our preferences). We got 4 slices of bread which costed 2€/per peson and was not even fresh. Also, no dessert was served in the end (tradition in Greece and Greek taverns). However, everything was brought at once and very fast, in less than 10 minutes! Overall, not a pleasant experience and...
Read moreThe restaurant is in a nice location on the seafront facing the small harbor and the touristic port, with some tables practically on the beach. The food selection is in line with the local standard: there is an attempt to propose some original variations on the local cuisine but they’re not always successful: for instance the cod tempura was nice and well fried, very good tzatziki while the sweet marmalade touch in the Seviche (raw fish marinade) does not fit the plate in my opinion. We ordered grilled fish, which was indeed fresh but a bit overcooked. The waiter suggested us to try the Santorini white wine, which we found way overpriced in the final bill (over 40€ per bottle). Overall good potential not completely fulfilled, but definitely overpriced (more than 40 euros per person including the service fee which is unusual in Greek...
