Avoid this place by all means.
We went for a lunch and wanted to order mousakkas and sausages. The owner/worker took the order and left. She came back after 15 minutes saying that there are no sausages and was saying we should get gyros, but we asked for pork chop. She ignored that and kept saying that we should get gyro. We thought it’s a language barrier and repeatedly said that we want the pork chop. Eventually she said that there is no pork chop (but that we should get gyro). We got imam baildi which is an aubergine with tomato and fetta.
What we got after over 30 minutes of waiting (and receiving bread in the meantime that we did not ask for but were charged for), was unbelievable. Cold chunks of aubergine with some other veggies, tomatoes and some fetta. Mousakkas was just random vegetables and FRIED fries, with no sauce, nothing. Just imagine the most unbelievable way mousakkas can look, and it was worse than that. I took a photo but for some reason can’t add it under the review.
When we wanted to pay, we were told that they accept only cash but on the door it was saying that they accept Visa and did not give us immediately the receipt (probably authorities should look into this). However we insisted and got a receipt.
The kitchen is a tiny place in an open space, smaller than in the cheapest studios, RIGHT NEXT to the toilet.
Although the area and the views are nice, this place spoilt our experience in Symi so...
Read moreThis is everything elce but A GREEK CUSINE!Avoid at all costs, and don't be fooled by the great location and view. We sat for a quick lunch, because my partner craved greek moussaka...the result was:ruined experience/one lady from Afrikan origin who came and even didn't bother herself to bring the menues/and a dish which has zero quality and nothing in common with moussaka. When it arrived it consisted of mushrooms....zucchini...and French fries /frozen type/in the dish ,covered with cheese and fetta. It smelled anchovis:))))lol...let me say that greek cousine DEMANDS greek recepies and ingredients, not improvisation from god knows where...I ordered the giant beans/I have 20+ years experience in greek Islands as a traveler/what came was a shame ....floating in olive oil and definitely from a can,not home cooked... When the bill arrived we were unpleasantly supriced by the rude lady we can't pay by card, which honestly I was expecting already when I saw how unprofessional all...
Read moreAvoid, avoid, AVOID! You'll thank me for saving you money. Firstly, beautiful spot and if run properly, would be a nice place to lunch. Seems like it was entirely run by one lady while her daughter/friend sat inside doing absolutely nothing. Served reasonably quickly, but other customers waited a long time while our food was cooked.
Menu is severely limited, most unavailable and she says that half of it is "out of season".
She doesn't write anything down, so asking frequently what was received. Ordered vegetable omelette for a vegetarian...it came with slices of meat on top. Also (pushed to) ordered Pork Gyros, which came out burnt and fatty.
Many tables around had food left over by the time we left, mine included. All scraps are unceremoniously scrapped into the sea while diners watch on. The fish are very fat in that area of the water waiting the inevitable leftovers coming their...
