From the moment we stepped into 40 Tales Fox, we were swept away by the enchanting atmosphere—stylish, cozy, and full of character. But what truly elevated our experience was the outstanding service, especially from Vangelis, who turned a great night into an unforgettable one.

Vangelis was an absolute star from start to finish. His food and cocktail recommendations were spot-on, guiding us through the menu with genuine passion and expertise. Every dish he suggested was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, and the cocktails? Pure perfection. You could tell he truly knows his craft.

Beyond the service, Vangelis brought a warmth and energy to the table that made us feel instantly at home. Friendly, professional, and effortlessly charming—his attention to detail and timing were impeccable. And let’s be honest: he’s also incredibly good-looking, which certainly didn’t hurt the ambiance!

My partner and I both loved it, we still tell people about the service we received here. We were walking down the street and read the menu outside .. we told the owner we would check the other restaurant menus and then decide…he told us “whatever you wish, I want you to enjoy your time in this island”. We ended up coming back to his restaurant and it did not disappoint. He served us, gave us amazing recommendations including our meal, wine selection, and other restaurants and locations to visit on our trip. The food was outstanding —so much flavour and lovely presentation. Great location and atmosphere too. This is the restaurant that Syros and especially the port needed. Syros isn’t yet a great dining destination particularly because it lacks restaurants like this one that occupy a middle ground between tavern and too expensive. 40 Tales threads the needle perfectly between homey, chic and Greek which in other restaurants always leans too far one way. Standout dishes for me were the lamb (huge), beetroot salad, risotto and the side potatoes. Great portions.
