When in Syros you MUST stay here. A stately, recently entirely renovated, shipowners’ home with beautifully designed rooms, each with its very own personality. Located in a prime location, just a few minutes’ walk to the town centre, the Aristide’s warm and attentive staff go out of their way to see to the guest’s every need or whim. Meals are offered either in the cosy garden or on the marvelous rooftop overlooking the town and the harbour. Breakfast, brunches, salads or dinners. The chef uses local fresh produce to offer his guests innovative, truly delicious dishes e.g. smoked beetroot with spicy hummus and strawberries or cauliflower with tahini and grape molasses for starters, followed by poach fish with boiled greens in fricassee broth, crispy chicken with corn, broccoli and oregano, seafood risotto with saffron or beef cheek with sweet potato and finally, burned cheesecake with sour cherry or profiterole with ganache and almond for dessert. The head chef Petros is highly talented. All this accompanied with a wonderful collection of the best local and Greek wines. We had a delicious 100% Greek Viognier, creamy, fruity, with a hint of wood, apricot and mango. Pre- and after dinner drinks mixed with a smile by the agile bartender. Exceptional experience. Don’t miss it.

From the food, to the service, to the place/atmosphere, we loved everything about the Aristide Restaurant. We had breakfast/brunch in the picturesque and zen-filled garden, a romantic dinner on the rooftop with the most lovely sea and harbour views, and a special picnic arranged by the restaurant at a private farm. No matter which item we picked off the menu, the Restaurant did not disappoint. The burned cheesecake will always have a piece of my heart (it was SO good). Also loved the various versions of omelets I tried at breakfast. The picnic was also hands-down one of the best tasting experiences we had (oh, and it comes with plenty of great wines for those of you wine lovers). I would note that the Restaurant sources from its own garden and local farms, so all ingredients are organic and super fresh. Overall, I would highly recommend trying this restaurant out when you are visiting Syros or booking one of its special experiences (picnic, wine tasting, etc.)!!

I wanted to plan something different for my family and friends who were coming to visit me in Syros. After seeing a number of photos and also experiencing the cuisine first hand at the hotel, I thought Aristide’s picnic would be a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. We were all blown away to say the least! The food from start to finish was absolutely amazing. Every single dish by the chef was thoroughly put together, delicious and truly exemplified what you can do with pure, organic products. At one point I pointed out to my mother that anyone could happily become vegan after experiencing the number of vegetable dishes and dips. That being said, the meat dishes (pork and beef) were mouth watering good! The wine was excellent, the service exceptional, the attention to detail and the atmosphere of dining on a long picnic table while nestled in a lemon grove made it a truly memorable experience.

Like most things at the Aristide hotel, the food has a magical quality. It is original, beautiful to look at and most of all absolutely delicious. The breakfasts were up there with the best we’ve had when staying at a hotel. We tried nearly everything on the menu and each option was equally as tasty, as well as being refreshingly different to what’s usually on offer.

The restaurant, situated on the roof of the building, is a special all-round experience. From the setting, the views, the impeccable service to the food itself which is authentic Greek food at its best and certainly several notches up from anything else we ate on Syros. The cocktails also deserve a mention because they, too, are innovative in flavour and style as well as being delicious.

The highlight for us was a picnic organised by the hotel. The setting was beautiful and the food truly sublime. The produce was all locally sourced and unlike a lot of Greek food we had tried before. Every course was exquisite and the wine pairings that went alongside them were thoughtfully matched, each as enjoyable as the next. It was a feast fit for Dionysus, faultlessly executed and a truly memorable experience.

We could not recommend eating at the Aristide restaurant more highly. The chef is a master of his craft and incredibly knowledgeable. The setting, food, wine and cocktails are unbeatable, as is the service. And if you’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to experience one of their picnics under the stars, you shouldn’t hesitate to go. You...

We can highly recommend a dinner on the roof terrace of the Hotel Aristide. We rarely dine in the restaurants of the hotels where we stay, but the roof terrace of Hotel Arisdide exudes a special charm and invites you to an evening of wonderful experiences for all the senses. a quiet, relaxing, varied and magical evening. Petros Braikidis, Executive Chef and dedicated, experienced sommelier, and his young and friendly service team impressed us so much that we decided to enjoy a second dinner there the following day. The menu, which is not too extensive and very well balanced, offers typical Greek dishes that Petros and his kitchen team reinterpret and refine and prepare with much skill and love. Vegetarian dishes complement some meat and fish options. You can taste that fresh tasty products are used. These are combined well with each other and still retain their own flavour. Also in the wine list, Petros focuses on winemakers from the different wine-growing regions of Greece who work close to nature and concentrate on the many interesting local grape varieties. The spontaneous wine tasting that Petros offered us highlighted the excellent wine selection. We were able to find fresh, precise and not too alcoholic white wines, as well as full, strong red wines, some of which were not...
