Ciel Syros — Restaurant in Municipality of Syros and Ermoupoli

We visited last night for dinner. The view was superb, but the service and food were well below average for the price. Even though I called to book a table, we had to wait and when we were taken to the table it was not set up - had a nice view though! When we ordered our food arrived before our drinks.... We ordered a greek salad - it was quite nice and maki rolls for starters - didn’t feel fresh or tasty and wasn't served with any Soy sauce on the side. For mains we ordered 2 crab linguine - big portions, but bland and a seabass. The seabass arrived around 10 minutes after the linguine, which made the situation awkward and the linguine cold. After we finished our meal, nobody bothered to clean the table or ask if we wanted a dessert. The most surprising part of all though was when we asked to pay and were never presented with an invoice! The waiter asked if we are paying by cash or card and when we said 'cash' the bill was 'announced' with no presentation of an invoice. We ordered two mai tais, and when the bill arrived, it included a charge for a "pink soda." Confused, I asked the staff about this additional item, as we had not ordered any pink soda. They explained that the charge was for the "premium rum" in the mai tais, though this was never mentioned when we placed our order. Feeling misled and upset, I paid the bill and left. The lack of transparency and the unexpected charge left a sour taste in what should have been a pleasant outing. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for an honest and enjoyable experience.

Super overpriced lounge chairs for the service we received. Went there to spend few hours of quality, chill time and during the whole 3 hours we were there, a big crew were going back and forth behind and around customers that were trying to enjoy the sea, carrying chairs and tables. They have a service elevator mechanism (literally within the lounge chairs) and they must have carried the entire bar on the street. Around 8 men were constantly shouting and trying to coordinate. They were probably closing the bar for the season, so they did all the work during the regular business hours. Customers were looking surprised about when this nightmare will end. Someone asked how many more tables and chairs they are gonna lift up and the guy in charge was instantly dismissive. No one from the owners seemed to care.
