There is no other bar in the city like Mponmponella. The decoration is elegantly designed from the wallpapers to the little touches on the tables, the furniture is old school and the whole place exhumes retro/vintage nostalgia that invites you to come sit have a coffee and read or be with good company for one of the numerous craft beers it offers or the delicious and original house cocktails. The music is a big part of the experience with a huge range of sounds from funk to jazz to dj specials, always fitting to the vibe making you feel at home. Although not a non-smoking place anymore it is still one of the last remaining bars in the city with clean atmosphere and during the summer it also offers outdoors sitting. The Papafi tube station will open soon just across the street giving you no excuse not to visit albeit access to the bar is still easy by any means as it's close to the city center and there is a bus stop right outside the entrance. Finally, the friendly staff and the owner is the heart of this beautiful bar, always there to help you choose the right beer according to your mood and treat you with the occasional free cocktail to thank you...

The best thing about this bar is its atmosphere. It's cozy, romantic and mostly quiet. It gives off a classic Caribbean bar vibe, although it's definitely contemporary due to the sophisticated décor. That said, the original cocktails are lackluster in both taste and appearance, so the prices could (and should) be lower. We didn't get to try anything off the menu, but the staff would surely try to persuade you even if you didn't want to try something. Delicious and creative cocktails served in an inviting and friendly atmosphere. The owner/cocktail aficionado is super friendly and generous, as too are all his staff.
