Boat House restaurant bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

We visited the Boathouse Restaurant for dinner several times while vacationing in Kamari in September, 2017. We especially enjoyed the “Greek Night” celebrations on Sundays and Wednesdays. The food and wine were excellent, the host and staff gracious and accommodating and the Greek music lively and entertaining. The Bouzouki player even performed some favorite Greek songs I requested.

There were exciting performances by professional dancers who danced in a circle of fire, while the exuberant audience smashed plates all around them! Finally, the dancers invited audience members to come up and join them in Greek dancing. The festivities lasted well into the night.

A lot of restaurant staff jumps you with a pushy 'come here, we have this and that and bla bla!' which for me personally is really off-putting. None of that here. Instead we were greeted kindly, with a polite not at all pushy suggestion about their menu. We saw the prices were okay, and decided to give it a try. All of our food was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The cheese was so yummy! Service was really nice, too, they did not mind answering any questions about our dishes and even happily obliged a small request regarding one of our orders. Located directly at the beach, with light music in the background, this is a really lovely little place for whichever meal of the day....

Loved this place. Choose it for lunch because they didn't try to talk me into getting in like every other restaurant in the area. My wife ordered the fish soup, and I got the calamari. After eating, we agreed that it was one of the most delicious soups we had ever tried. After we were done, we drove to our place in Oia. Dinner time came, and I asked the wife what she wanted. Well, she had me drive all the way back to Oia to have the soup one more time before we leave the island. The staff was genuinely friendly.
