Porto Bello — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

Our visit started good with nice staff and nice small restaurant. We ordered two pizza margarita and av swordfish. The pizza was good, and the swordfish was something different. I got served two slices of Swordfish, one of them I mistook for a grilled aubergine or some other vegetable. The piece that looked like swordfish was very good! Perfect barbequed, and perfect balance not being grilled too dry (which I have experienced on occation other places). However... I took a bite of the unidentified slice of something. I just couldn't make out what it was. I examined the slice again, and saw it was fish. I took another bite and it tasted terrible like old stale fish.

I got hold of the waitress who somehow did not quite understand the problem, but took the plate away ro fix it... They came back and forth and talked about the barbeque, and I thought I would get a new slice. After some 15 minutes I got THE SAME PIECES back, apparently grilled more...

Two thoughts: They actually put the very same pieces I had eaten from back on the grill where they prepare other food, and secondly they present the plate with the same food eaten, skin / bone separated from the first slice, and the stale fish...

Very Sad as the first slice was so good... Two stars just cause the...

First and foremost the waiter Stillianos is one of the reasons we went here 3 times in our week stay in santorini! Incredibly friendly, very helpful and down to earth! Proper gent 👌

Secondly, the food is very good and it's very well priced for the island!

The pizza is a must, its a proper thin based pizza, toppings are good, and it tastes 10/10 we were told each time that the pizza was made from scratch and you could tell the second you took a bite, even got one for takeaway one night because it was good!

The Greek burgers are also another top choice. The burgers themselves were just very well cooked, Incredibly juicy and tasted amazing. And the pitta bread was also very good! The potatoes were really well cooked and seasoned well and the tzatziki was also savage!

If we do come back to santorini we'll definitely come back here for the food and...

Rude staff. First they come and tell us "we have problem with card", when I say we don't have cash they say: OK ok maybe I fix it... (and of course it worked fine with card) We ordered a pizza and a prawn pasta. The pizza was good. Good crust and plenty of cheese. But the pasta was overcooked and with too much pepper. We could not eat it. When the waiter came and we gave out honest feedback he got mad and said "unbelievable", not accepting that they overcooked the pasta, like we were wrong. Bad service, sneaky people and average food, all in all. Spend your money...
