Words are not enough to describe the hospitality and warmth of this place, and the quality of food is top-tier. It's been 2 years since we stayed at Acrotiri, and we were so lucky to find this family-owned gem. The food was so fresh and tasty, with produce that the owners either grow (like the yellow split peas or "fava", the tomatoes and the cheese), gather (like the sea fennel or "kritamo", which the owner collects by boat from the volcano island opposite Acrotiri), or source from other local producers. Everything was so delicious, hearty and thought-through, that after our first time we went back twice more (and would go again if our stay in Santorini was longer). We also bought some of the owners' produce to take home with us, like their homemade wine and home-grown capers. A must-visit place, tell only your good friends, go with an appetite, grab a jacket for potential winds, and enjoy this rare treat.

Read moreThis was the find of our holiday! Such a delightful cool shady retreat in an 800 year old castle, and what a delightful family. We stumbled across this purely by accident and had a wonderful light lunch with fresh dips and a speciality Santorini salad bowl all produced on their local farm. The story of the castle is fascinating, and the passion Nikoletta has brought to create her cafe is lovely. She was so welcoming and kind. We returned 2 days later for more of her delights, just as she was leaving for the afternoon. She absolutely would not let us leave until she'd sat us down and made some fresh beetroot dip and salad with bread. We loved our 2 weeks in Santorini, and my only regret was not coming back here again for a much bigger lunch of her fresh home grown and cooked local specialities. Make the effort to come here if you're out in the car, and support this gem of a family-run cafe. Pete...
Read moreWhat an amazing dinner experience!! The walk from town to this restaurant in itself is special. The restaurant is in a castle that has been owned by this family for generations. The only thing better is the food, the view, and the owners. To sum it up, everything was perfect and this is a MUST EAT if you have only one night on the island (forget the busy restaurants in Fira and Oia).
Nicoletta greeted us warmly immediately, gave us some history about her restaurant and how it came to be. Her son was helping serve and her husband was cooking. The food was amazing and the hand-written menu was such a nice touch.
Was well priced and ~60 euros for my family of 5 (with wine also). An experience my daughters will not forget anytime soon.
** Be warned this is cash only, so be prepared and...
