I recently visited Waffle House in Greece, which is known more for its artisanal ice cream than the American breakfast chain you might expect. Although I usually avoid dairy ice cream due to being lactose intolerant back in the States, I’ve noticed that I don’t seem to have the same reaction when eating dairy in Greece or other countries. Still, it’s not my personal preference, as I don’t enjoy the lingering aftertaste.
I tried a scoop of pistachio and a scoop of vanilla bean. While the flavors didn’t quite suit me, the pistachio scoop was a clear favorite in my group. Everyone ordered two scoops, and pistachio was the common choice across the board. It was rich, nutty, and full of flavor. Many of my friends also ordered the Ferrero Rocher chocolate, and even the kids eagerly finished their servings and started asking their parents for bites. Safe to say, the ice cream was a hit.
One thing I loved about Waffle House was the creative variety in how you could enjoy your treat—waffle cones, waffle bowls, or even a waffle slice right in your cup. That detail added something really special to the experience.
For dairy lovers, this place has a lot to offer. They even have take-home packs for individuals or families, which is a great option for those wanting to indulge later.
The only downside was the lack of dairy-free or vegan ice cream options, which would have been nice for those with strict dietary needs. Fortunately, there’s another ice cream shop right across the street that does offer non-dairy alternatives, so you’re not completely out of luck.
Overall: If you enjoy traditional, dairy-based desserts, Waffle House in Greece is a must-visit. With creative presentation, flavorful scoops (especially the pistachio), and a fun, family-friendly vibe, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular. I’d just love to see them add some dairy-free options...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting the Waffle House in Vouliagmeni, and on the whole, it's a charming establishment where one can enjoy a delightful coffee or dessert. Waffle House boasts ample seating and affords patrons a beautiful 180-degree view of the surrounding area. Their diverse menu provides a wide range of delectable options, including waffles.
That said, I have a particular preference for consistency in my dining experiences, especially when it comes to waffles. The matter at hand revolves around the noticeable variation in the size of the ice cream scoops used on the waffles. While I acknowledge that different individuals may handle this task, my status as a loyal customer since Waffle House's inception in Vouliagmeni makes these details particularly meaningful to me.
Ideally, I prefer my waffles to be served with two suitably sized scoops of ice cream. Nevertheless, there have been occasions when I've received a waffle with two smaller scoops, which does tend to be somewhat bothersome. I've made it a point to communicate my concerns to the staff each time this inconsistency arises, though I'm aware that their inquiries may be more out of politeness than a genuine effort to address the matter.
In summary, the Waffle House in Vouliagmeni offers a delightful atmosphere, an extensive menu, and a picturesque view, making it an appealing dining destination. Nonetheless, the matter of inconsistent ice cream scoop sizes remains a recurrent issue, causing some degree of disappointment during my visits. While I continue to express my concerns, it's regrettable that this matter has yet to be resolved, somewhat tempering my overall...
Read moreFor starters the waffle is as thin as an Italian thin crust pizza. Nothing like any other waffle I have tasted in all my life, in any other shop over the world. If that special thin size was accompanied by an amazing taste then this would mean innovation. But it doesn't. Is worse than the traditional waffle. Good range and taste of ice-creams but again nothing special, although freshly made. I rate four stars, because three stars may be cruel for a business. But again, they first serve you with water, and when you ask for a refill or a jar of water, they instruct you to but a bottle as they don't have jars... The service is fast even when crowded and the waiters are polite. I would go again not by choice but only if I wanted a waffle very bad, and there was no other place open at that time. All in all, I have eaten waffles in much less famous shops that when you taste their waffles you will say "mama mia!". This place is not...
