Great food with generous portion sizes, great views, fast and friendly service, clean toilets, and an excellent range of ice creams.

Located right next to the castle car park (free, but limited spaces) and at the top of where all the footpath routes through Molyvos/Mithymna eventually meet up just before the castle entrance.

Walk up, don’t drive. The physical effort is worth the sights you’ll see on the way up and you’ll enjoy your cold drinks all the more when you arrive!

Note that Apple Maps, even if you specify “walking” will take you up via the car route (longest and boring). Google Maps will take you the shorter (steeper!) pedestrian-only route but it is far more scenic and a joy for lovers of cats/kittens and small...

This is really wonderful place - one of the better ones in Molyvos. The restaurant is elegant and blends well with the castle. The service is fantastic and friendly - they make you feel at ease and welcome here. Here you can eat in restaurant part or take some drinks and enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea, the harbor and the castle. For us, the greatest attraction are the concerts of a great musician, which take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. His guitar playing and voice are amazing. We only stopped for a drink after doing the climb up to the Castle in the afternoon heat. The prices are very reasonable considering it is the only cafe at the summit.

We also saw some posters for concerts as this is also a venue. They honestly couldn't have a better backdrop, the view is as killer as the climb.

It's well worth the effort. The Castle interior closes quite early but you can walk around the exterior courtyard for free until evening (I think the sign said 8pm). However you will get a spectacular view from Byzantino, so you may not...
