Short version: coarse service, main courses not available, undrinkable wine and some cunning tricks.
Full version: The restaurant does not offer pita, or meat like souvlaki which is instead more typical of other areas of Greece, but specializes in fish and vegetable tapas.
We decided to have dinner here driven by the positive reviews, and above all to taste the octopus, their main dish. Unfortunately, after waiting in line, we were made to sit at a small, arranged and uncomfortable table near the staircase. Furthermore, we were told only when we were ready to order that the main dishes on the menu, based on fresh octopus or prawns, were not available, while other customers who arrived later were informed immediately. So we had to fall back on a fried squid (defrosted?) and some vegetable dish. I understand that fresh fish can be missing on Mondays, but honestly I'm on vacation and hadn't thought of this. I feel it is right for the waiter to inform us first, in order to decide what to do.
Since it was only at our table that bread was not brought along with cutlery, I assumed it was an oversight and pointed this out. At the end of the dinner, once I received the receipt, I realized that not only was the bread not included, but TWO portions of bread (among other things, not very good) had been charged, even though I had never specified to bring two , so much so that there is a lot left over because it was too much. It was a cunning of those who served at the table.
To all this we add a glass of wine for €7, which must have been from the famous Moraitis winery, but which was undrinkable because it looked like vinegar. They probably manage to deceive some tourists who don't understand anything about wine.
Unfortunately my experience was...

Read moreTaramousalata is my fav dip and this place had some of the best tarama I have eaten. The Πατάτες Τηγανιτές were quite good as well, and the greek salad was nothing special but no complaints with it. The tomato Κεφτέδες (tomato balls) were spicy (and I’m not just talking a small amount) and all we could taste was onion, and same with the zucchini Κεφτέδες all we could taste was onion. I love Κολοκυθοκεφτέδες (zucchini balls) but I had to force myself to chew and swallow these and try to minimise the taste by drinking water. I’m putting heaps of feta in my mouth but it didn’t do justice. I would have given five stars for all the other dishes but both of the types of Κεφτέδες (zucchini and tomato balls) put us off wanting to come back...
