With a beautiful beach/seaside view and elegant decor, we felt so at ease while eating the most delicious Japanese style dishes in Paros 🥢
The staff introduced themselves and made us feel tended to in every way, while also giving us recommended dishes that were delicious 🤤*our reservation was at 19:00 and we were the first guests, it got a busier around 20:00-21:00. We are glad we came earlier though, because you get such a beautiful golden hour for your meal ✨ Another small touch we liked was how soft and thick the napkins are.
The red snapper was in season and so they served it as a carpaccio with dry miso which was fresh, delicate, and delicious. The sushi rolls were so good and the tempura was perfectly crispy 👌 The ginger was slightly sweet and nice, and the wasabi tasted real - not the insanely spicy fake paste.
Our favourite was the Wagyu steak with sauces 🤤 each bite melts in your mouth (closing your eyes is totally understandable to really appreciate the tenderness of this steak 😌)
The Chocolate Bento Box dessert featured a warm chocolate lava cake that was sooo good and a light and creamy green tea ice cream 🥄 the whisky cappuccino dessert was also very good, similar to a tiramisu.
Their drinks were also very good and they brand their larger ice cubes which was a nice touch 👌 Note: you can also order these drinks on the beach, if you are a guest at Avant Mar (the...
Read moreWe love food! We also love taverna, souvlakis, restaurants, and high-end food experiences. This is hands down the most disappointing and expensive meal on the island. I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt being close to the end of the season, but wow, was the food bad. I love giving good reviews. Unfortunately, it's just impossible to do here. I have never had such a bland, tasteless meal. The only thing that saved it was the sauces. We started with edamame- salted well, wrinkled and older beans, did not come across as fresh. Salmon tacos - cut salmon in mini crunchy shells with tomato accompanying sauce. One of 2 things that were somewhat tasty due to the sauce. There was zero seasoning on the dish. Tempura- crab and vegetable, was so freaking greasy that I was using my cloth napkin to soak up the oil. The waiter noticed and brought me a second napkin and didn't address the dish issues at all. Crab was a good size bit so fishy! We ate it because we were starving. Dumplings with waygu were nothing special, salty meat in a wrapping. No real flavor. The grilled seabass and vegetables were the only 'good' item, but it was mostly good due to the lineup of disappointment beforehand.
Service, ambience, and drinks were good. Go for a pre dinner drink and then go absolutely anywhere else on the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Matsuhisa, a delightful Japanese restaurant specializing in sushi and other traditional dishes. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
The menu offered a wide variety of options, each dish meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The sushi was incredibly fresh, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. We particularly enjoyed the sashimi platter, which showcased an impressive selection of high-quality fish.
A special thanks to Dimitris, our server, who made our visit even more enjoyable. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu helped us make the best choices, and his friendly demeanor made us feel truly welcome.
Overall, Matsuhisa exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of exquisite food, excellent service, and a pleasant ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine. We look forward to...
