A family run place but with a top notch inventive cook in the kitchen if you are looking for gyros etc then this not the place. This the last restaurant to left (if facing the ocean) on the Nausa waterfront. Do yourself a favor and walk past the others to find this. A friendly welcoming spot right on the water where you can find Italian dishes and some inventive dishes. I tried the caramelized octopus and was blown away. I have only ever seen octopus done grilled maybe with olive oil. This dish had the octopus slow cooked and was tender and in its own juices, served with home made potato chips. The potatoes in the island are amazing as were these . The wife had spaghetti vongole and it was to her taste the best she's ever had. It was packed with tasty baby clams. They have a nice wine list but house rose was very nice and crisp. The house bread plater is artfully displayed comes with olive oil, sea salt olives and excellent bread. Most places in Greece charge for bread it’s free here and better than most.
Hard to get a bad meals in the Cyclades but this place has so far been the best of bunch of top notch meals
We loved this so much and found some of the other waterfront places to be over priced and not as good so in our last night we came back. We ordered the burrata apetizer. It was so abundant and so good the wife barely had any space left for her pasta. A nice burrata with aragula fresh baby tomatoes (a ton of those) with a wonderful balsamic reduction. This time I ordered the shrimp tacos as I have seen others point them out. Glad I did this often done with slaw but the slaw is never very good. Here each large taco had two very fresh shrimps, the slaw had not drip of mayonnaise or some other lazy addition but was lightly flavored, there was corn and just few slices of very tasty red pepper they just took the whole thing ti another level. Just simple ingredients in the hands of a great cook. The wife ordered the carbonara. This dish I see all the time served with a heavy amount of sauce but not here it was flavorful not greasy or heavy and abundant enough to be shared by two people. If I lived in Paros I would eat here once a week and work my way though the menu. the octopus dish I will dream about forever...
Read moreSo we made the mistake of arriving at like peak dinner time without a reservation, but happily the staff were able to get us a seat right at the front of the patio, so we had a front row view of the harbor. We had researched the restaurant before trying to get a table, and it sounds like the whole place is family run. Which is to say that while the kitchen ran a bit slow (again, reiterating that we arrived right during the rush of dinner time and our server still was apologetic about the hold up)-- man, was it totally worth the wait. My husband had the shrimp souvlaki and I had the salmon souvlaki. We'd tried souvlaki in other places in Greece, but the food at Notos was just on a whole other level. Truly one of our favorite places we ate the whole trip. We only wish we would have been able to try one of the desserts (specifically the pavlova since it was the first place we'd seen it on a menu)! Typically if we had to wait as long for food as we did that evening, I wouldn't feel this strongly about returning to a restaurant, but I'm telling you if you can stick in there and just enjoy the complementary bread, olives and dip until the food arrives (or order an appetizer), it is totally worth it. The shrimp and salmon were cooked perfectly, and the side salad served with the salmon was light...
Read moreMUST GO IN NAOUSSA! We stayed in Naoussa for almost a week and went there 3 times. The restaurant is definitely the best on the island. It’s the last one at the Naoussa Harbour which is why not every tourist goes there immediately. But we went because of the recommendations and were absolutely satisfied. PRO TIP: talk to the young son who works in the restaurant as a waiter. He can not only speak in 4 languages (and he’s probably not older than 14) but also knows exactly what’s the best on the menu. He will eventually come up to every new guest, so just ask him. He knows the menu by heart. If you ask him what to get, you will be tasting the best food his mom cooks :)
We loved (!!!) the steamed mussels (best we ever had), the slow cooked beef rips, the mango /avo rice & salmon, the Tarama, the fried Calamari & Shrimps, as well as the signature dessert (Baiser).
We also tasted the pasta (Mussel Pasta & Bolognese). Those were fine, but we wouldn’t recommend to take them, since they do other food a lot better.
Also the staff is absolutely lovely & welcoming. It’s a family business :) 100% recommend...
