Please, please avoid this restaurant. The previous negative reviews depict exactly how it is. As for the random 5 star reviews questioning the validity of the low star reviews - I am pleased for them that they had a good experience but am dumbfounded at how that is possible.

We, too, were lulled in by the seemingly authentic Greek vibe of a restaurant but it became apparent it was actually an obnoxious, unapologetically unapproachable restaurant owner. After forcefully suggesting dishes, we were able to choose our own. Our issues were as follows:

The beer was awfully flat and staff could be spotted inside the unkempt benches pouring beer from a can - we had been told it was on draught. We ordered two starters, but a main dish arrived before one of the starters. We ordered the swordfish with chips but the swordfish was stale looking and highly overcooked. The chips were cold. After accepting that the swordfish could not be eaten, we explained that the chips were cold. We were not given fresh chips and they clearly had been microwaved to heat up - they came back soggy and with the same salt on as before. The waiters somewhat apathetic disappointment at this being pointed out was telling of the low standards clearly being set from the top. We also ordered the mussels with spaghetti. The mussels were chewy and it was simply plain spaghetti with less flavour than concrete.

Overall, the food was so poor I have since feared becoming unwell. My friend refused to eat the swordfish dish and I sadly ate some of the mussels dish.

It is true when reviews have stated they overcharge - my friend refused to pay for the swordfish which was met with a total disregard for customer satisfaction. The same waiter who displayed disappointment made an attempt to support our claims by retrieving the nigh-on untouched swordfish. The manager claimed it was €63. He then offered to reduce it by a whopping €3… again, we refused to pay €60. He then dropped it to €58. Again, we said we would not pay for the swordfish. He then dropped it to €48. In a desperate bid to get away from the place we accepted and paid. The utter chaos of the kitchen and illegitimate nature of the billing is extremely concerning to say the least. As we left - disheartened and in shock - we questioned the bill. Looking again at the menu, the dinner should have only cost us €48, therefore irritatingly we didn’t get our atrocious meal discounted. Seemingly as the other reviews suggest, the unknown extra costs is a scam to get you to pay actually what the prices are as I imagine this happens a lot.

We were asked to pay in the kitchen which can only be described as an unhygienic, bacterial breeding ground. It did not appear clean, it was full of clutter and totally accessible to the public - for the toilet, to pay and also to local beggars who wandered in to ask for money.

It was sad to see so many disappointed faces around the restaurant when we were there; we were not an anomaly. I wish I’d told the tourists approaching to turn away. I’d say my biggest regret was paying for the meal, but actually, - it was sitting down at that restaurant. If you do one thing, please listen to...

Sadly not the greece we know, and loved. The people that say this is a tourist trap, are on the right lines. Food was average at best and that's being generous. A couple of the staff were nice enough and friendly just not as attentive. Beer was good though! That's the short version.

We were given a huge amount of dry and slightly stale bread, in a basket on top of our cutlery. No butter or oil, when asked for some oil, he said no problem but it never came. The leftover bread from tables was thrown into the water for the fishes.

We ordered "meatballs" which when came were meatballs which is fair, but they had very clearly been deep fried. And the chips were dry and bland, i reckoned fried in the same oil as the fish.

Then a tuna salad, which when it came was canned! Tuna. Some cucumber rounds, lettuce that tasted funny, onions and some sad tomatoes and olives. All swimming in olive oil on the bottom of the plate.

Sadly I didn't get a picture of the chicken gyros, but when it came 15 minutes after everyone else's food. The meat was oily, and some more sad tomatoes, and dry chips. No Tzatziki, salad, or...

If you're considering going to this restaurant, for the sake of your own sanity,- don't, if you're already there - leave! Worst restaurant experience ever. Starting with the rude and very unprofessional personnel - be aware of the fat man on crutches! We came there pretty hungry for a late lunch in the afternoon and were convinced (also by the enticing menu) to take a seat.... After we finally placed our order and got our drinks we had to ask for glasses separately which then had lipstick on it. Then after another 30 minutes, we asked where our dishes were and got reassured that they will arrive shortly. 10 minutes later, without a hint of an apology, they told us they had forgotten our order. We asked for the check, which also took it's time and finally payed. When we left, the owner shouted even an provocative 'thank you' at us. We would have given zero stars if possible, the only good thing about the experience was the location. Usually, we don't leave such devistating reviews but for the sake of future potential customers we pratically had no...

We walked by on our first night, and decided to sit down as it was quite busy and patrons seemed happy. The friendly owner came over and explained the menu. Definitely recommend any of the fresh fish they offer, “potatoes” that are hand cut fries, a beautiful Greek salad, and also the gyros. He will offer the white wine which we enjoyed. The first night it was only locals and no other tourists which we thought was a good sign. Everyone was so friendly and when we returned 2 days later, we were greeted like regulars. Great quality food again, and very reasonable - each time around 50 EUR for two. With two fish dishes, probably a bit more. Bring cash and enjoy! It was a great experience both times, felt very authentic, and we will definitely return when we visit Paros again. I only read the reviews after having visited twice and was surprised about the negative ones, one of them which was from the same week. We felt rather undercharged than overcharged and we did not confirm the price before ordering.
