Good food, high price, overcrowded and uncomfortable.
The food was quite good. The fish-roe salad (which was more spread) was pleasantly salty, fishy, and tangy. The fish-roe salad came without anything, so the table bread was handy. Steamed mussels were fresh and tasty. The octopus cooked in honey and red wine was soft and delicious. The Yellowfin tuna fillet was perfectly seared, but the seasoning was basic (pickled ginger and drops of wasabi mayo). Note: you will be offered a 1 L bottle of water (4 EUR) as soon as you sit down, and you will be automatically charged for the table bread (2 EUR per person).
The cocktails from the Salty Cocktail Bar were pretty good and unique, but 16 EUR per drink was excessive for house pour drinks that haven't changed much in years. At these prices, one would expect custom-tailored Japanese whiskey cocktails.
The service was fine. The place is packed, so servers are constantly on the run, and mainly focus on taking your water order, delivering food, clearing plates and glasses too soon, and collecting payment. Don't expect the service you'd get at a high-end restaurant, their primary goal is to keep customers moving.
Now, the worst part is the ambiance. The place is packed like a sardine can, and you will unwillingly hear all conversations from the four tables around you. The view is only good at sunset. Before sunset, it's too hot and windy, after dark it's too...
Read moreJust WOW. We arrived without a reservation and the team did their utmost to accommodate our table of 2. It is advised to book well in advance as their reputation precedes them, you NEED a table here on the beautiful harbour.
After the master of ceremonies showed us to our lucky table, the team who looked after us couldn’t have been more welcoming. Wines were recommended, specials of the day and the atmosphere to match.
The food was outstanding, the service out of this world and I would come back every night in Naousa if I could.
The best experience, looked after by such welcoming, wholesome people and the food was superb to match.
Can’t speak higher of the place, the management get hospitality in such a stunning environment.
Take this review verbatim, ensure you book ahead and you will not be disappointed.
Xoxo
Edit: after reading the most recent review, please ignore their ignorance. The 3 euro cover charge for a stunning spot on the harbour is pittance. Also, if you ask for the price of the catch of the day, they will answer you in price per kilo as any fine establishment would. This restaurant is so far from a rip off, the portion sizes are so large that we paid €100 euros, bottle of wine included and we could barely finish our meal. Complimentary Mastich for dessert too.
This restaurant deserves the hype and I couldn’t recommend this place highly...
Read moreThis was one of the best meals we had in Paros, so delicious that we had to return a second time to order the fish of the day again.
However, I must mention that the restaurant is quite expensive. You can easily get carried away with tourist pricing and end up spending more than you intended. Despite this, I highly recommend trying the most expensive dishes - not the lobster, but the fish of the day and the special pasta of the day (the shrimp orzo, which costs 70 euros for four people).
The star of the show is the fish of the day, a white fish cooked with butter and lemon sauce. It’s simply the best part of the meal, and the orzo is equally impressive. The tomato sauce in the shrimp orzo dish is incredibly fresh and honestly surpasses most pasta I’ve had in Italy. The restaurant staff also de-bones the fish and shrimp heads (if you order the special pasta, the shrimp orzo), making the meal much easier to enjoy.
The ceviche, octopus (order it grilled, not the one on the menu), and mussels saganaki are all outstanding dishes that are definitely worth trying too.
Another highlight is the tomato salad. The croutons here are among the most unique I’ve ever had.
The restaurant also tends to offer free desserts. On both meals, we received the strawberry and cream puff pastry, which was a delightful way to end our meal before heading...
