Το Κουτσαβάκι — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

Non touristic Greek tavern, fast and friendly service, it also has a parking lot opposite its entrance.

We visited it twice during our stay in Skiathos. The food is delicious and in great portions. Normal prices.

We were welcomed with some freshly grilled bread with oil, followed by a side dish of garlic paste. Although, the second time we visited it, we were given only the grilled bread, maybe we had to order the garlic paste on the side, as I recall seeing an entry on their menu for grilled bread.

We also had, both times, the "feta in filo with honey and sesame seeds" and the "mushrooms ala creme with garlic", for starters. You really ought to try them.

For the main course, we tried the "pork steak" and the "chicken filet", on our first visit and the "fried kalamaria" (squid) and "fried gavros" (european anchovy), on our second visit. All the dishes were well cooked, tasty and freshly made.

For dessert, they will always offer you, free of charge, homemade sweets. The first time, we had panna cotta, the second time, we had pecan pie.

This is a very traditional, no frills, taverna serving delicious Greek food at very reasonable prices. Yiannis and Ioanna are so hospitable they remembered us from last year and welcomed us like old friends. Many Greeks eat here, so that says it all. It is 5 minutes walk from La Piscine Hotel, we ate there on 4 occasions and all the food was lovely especially the pasta with seafood the Moussaka, Chicken with lemon potatoes and the fish. Walked past and could tell the food would be good (as full of locals and Italians) and it didn't disappoint. We sampled seafood dishes- mixed grill for 2 (pic 1 ) which was ample and included potatoes, rice and green veg. Also had the sea bass with rice and tsipoura fish ( white fish) which was excellent, very succulent( pic 2); however take care as the fish is very bony.
