I wanted to like this place but too many negative things happened on our visit here, the biggest problem I had was with the service and the lack of professionalism with which things were handled. We were also served cold food.
We had dinner here on our 7th night in Skiathos. The service staff were the least attentive out of all the restaurants we had visited. Firstly, I called up the day before to book a table for the next evening which was confirmed by the waitress, she seemed in a rush to get off the phone and said goodbye before asking for a name for the reservation, I then stated my name as she hung up the phone. When we arrived the next night, they did not have a record of our booking, the staff on the night however did find us a table but not without trying to avoid blame and proceeded to ask if we had actually called booked with the right place (we did).
Most of the food was ok, apart from the fact that the vegan moussaka my partner ordered came out cold, we sent it back and the waiting staff said they would warm it up, no other apologies or concern was offered. My partner only had a few more bites once it came back warmed up. No offers were made to remake it and no offers were made to take it off the bill. The other food was ok, but we had much better food elsewhere in skiathos.
Later that night my partner had food poisoning. Now it is typically difficult to pinpoint what it is that caused food poisoning, however we had both eaten the exact same things the whole day - apart from the vegan moussaka, which came out cold, and was warmed up. So there is a significantly high probability it was from that.
I think this whole experience highlights that there is a complete lack of process in how this restaurant trains its staff and how they hold themselves accountable to standards for quality of food offered and the service offered. Overall the worst service we had in skiathos all week and also the worst...
Read moreWe had seen this place a few times in previous years when walking into or out of Skiathos main street Papadiamanti area or on the way towards the Windmill restaurant. It’s literally on the border of the restaurant/shop area and the residential part of town and you might be forgiven to walk past it. Don’t, as it is really rather lovely. Luckily, this time our daughter took a photo of the sign in front of the entrance and managed the following day to reserve a table a few days later.
We came here with two teenagers for dinner and everybody was happy with their starters and mains which consisted of pizza, pasta, fish and meat dishes.
However, I was particularly impressed by two things and on another night, after we had “dined” for Euro 5 each at Time Out, I suggested to my wife to go back while the girls were getting their nails done to enjoy these; we had no reservation but managed to get a table at the “bar”, which was just what we wanted. We love the fish ceviche starter and I am particularly fond of the Aged Rum cocktail. This place could easily turn me into a bar fly if it was on my door step 365/24/7. On the second occasion we managed to try desserts and both the tiramisu as well as the panacotta with basil and tomato jam went down a treat.
Service was great on both occasions and the ambience really nice. They play a funny style of “bar music”, which consist mostly of bossa nova versions of pop and rock songs, which added to our entertainment.
Sitting back in rainy London, I know where...
Read moreRandomly stumbled upon this restuarant searching for good vegetarian options which are quite scarce in Skiathos. First night we went there we had no reservation made but since it was low season we quickly got a table. Ordered the vegan moussaka and the chocolate cremeux with salted caramel ice cream. The moussaka was good but the dessert was terrific! The ice cream was so good and salty and we all almost licked the plates clean. We decided to go here another night again and had an excellent experience once again.
Cheers to the lovely waitress who was really professional and gave really good service pairing wines and food.
This place is really worth the visit and during high season I think you should book a table so you wont miss...
