We asked the Airbnb manager for a recommendation for a true local restaurant where he would go and eat and not the front row , water front restaurants with gorgeous views but mid food and he recommended full hearted Lyhnari restaurant “ where everything is cooked from scratch “ and not premade! Dimitris, the owner, greeted us, recommended for each of the four of us to order something else and share. He brought us tzatziki, eggplant salad and tarama as a starter and it was to die for! We got some amazing ideas to add nuts to the eggplant salad when we prepare it at home and dill , olive oil, lemon and bread crumbs and I’ll definitely do that next time I’m making it at home. The mousaka was the best we have ever had! The lamb was soft, juicy, well seasoned and beautifully grilled! The yogurt dessert was fabulous as well! Ah, this was the very best Greek restaurant we have ever eaten in this whole...
Read moreWe stayed 6 days in Skiathos and tried many tavernas and places where to eat but Lyhnari stole our hearts in absolute! We visited this gem place twice, we tried: moussaka, meatballs, lamb, octopus salad, lyhnari special salad, fried feta cheese with honey. Everything was tasty, fresh and in good portions! The price justify the quality of the food. The attention for the client was brilliant: Dhimitris and his norvegese lady are the most authentic people in this island. They make sure clients are satisfied and when they learned we were in Skiathos for last night, they pleased us with a small gift! This is what I call professional and long term attitude in the food service. I super highly recommend this place! You will be forever one of our best memories in...

But it did look quite nice, and as I walked in a couple leaving told me (unsolicited) that it was excellent. I wasn't disappointed, I liked eating there. Plus points - I got a free ouzo with ice. Also a tasty little dish of black olive tapenade and bread. The waitress spoke very good English, like most of the serving staff in the town restaurants. Ambience was very pleasant, and prices were reasonable. I paid 27 euros for a souvlaki chicken, a large beer and 500 ml of Retsina. I'd happily come back, but there isn't much of a view. However the terrace is pleasant, with the scent of jasmine from the entrance arch. Atmosphere...
