GRILL HOUSE “ELEN” — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

First day back in Skiathos and we decided to go to the town for dinner. Looking at all the main front restaurants we weren’t too keen but spotted this one with a 4.9/5 star review and decided to try it. Very very pleased!

We went for a 2 person mixed grill with drinks (pint mythos & 500ml rosé) and it cost us €29 total. The mixed grill was more than enough for the two of us and it was the perfect Greek meal.

The owner was very friendly and even though a table of approx 20 sat down to eat, he did his very best to check in with us/give the bill etc…

If you want some greek giros at the seafront wothout spending a fortune, this is your place. You get proper greek taste - no balsamico infused sauce and greens instead of tomatoes and onions, and all the staples of a taverna. L'esperienza più imbarazzante della mia vita. Io e la mia ragazza siamo arrivati in questo posto, abbiamo ordinato delle birre, un gyros e una moussaka. Le birre sono arrivate subito, mentre per il cibo abbiamo aspettato più di un'ora, prima di scoprire che i nostri ordini non erano ancora stati processati. Pensavamo che la moussaka richiedesse un po' di tempo e per questo non abbiamo chiesto prima. Nel frattempo cercavamo contatto visuale con le cameriere che ci hanno totalmente ignorato. Ma la cosa più imbarazzante é che eravamo 4 tavoli in tutto il locale, cioè non si sono accorti che uno dei 4 tavoli non era stato servito mentre tutto lo staff era seduto a un tavolo a parlare. Dopo aver scoperto che il nostro ordine non era ancora stato processato ho chiesto di pagare le birre per andarmene, mi hanno fatto pagare le birre il prezzo pieno, quando mi sarei aspettato almeno almeno uno sconto, magari avrei sorvolato su questa recensione in caso, e invece si beccano questa bella stella! Mi dispiace per la cameriera che ha preso il nostro ordine, era giovane, ma comunque é troppo grave che non si sia accorta che noi eravamo lì ad aspettare da più di un'ora. Evitate di andare in questo posto, ci sono posti molto belli e dove si mangia bene per tutta Skiathos, ma soprattutto dove ti trattano...
