Little Balcony (Το Μπαλκονάκι) — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

Humble restaurant at serving traditional dishes. We had a mixed grill, all of it was delicious (apart from the burger), it came with bread, tzatziki, chips, some tomato & cucumber, enough to make a mini gyros! Unfortunately we asked for a mixed grill for one and the waiter brought us a double portion. The owner was kindly talking with us after the meal and we then felt that we couldn’t tell him about the mistake made. Salads are pricey but tasty - probably enough to share between 4 people if you’re having mixed grill too. We wouldn’t have ordered the salad if we knew they would bring a double portion of grill as we wanted a smaller lunch, and unfortunately then ended up spending more money. Poor quality food, for sure very rude staff. Our 2 years old son had a vomit episode that surprised ourselves as parents. As the mother had to take the baby at the nearby hotel, the father remained to pay for the meal and to advise the stuff about the unpleasent situation. The next day we approached again the location however the lady that serves ( calling herself the boss) advised us that we are not welcome "with this baby" as they already have bad reviews since yesterday and rushed us to leave. Of course we left. Unfortunately this is just another turist trap chasing nice rewies it seems. And now we are sorry not the have read the other previous reviews regarding the bad quality of food and the rudeness of the personal serving. This was the closest place to our Airbnb and we were so hungry that we didn’t even look at any other places, while we were waiting for food I decided to check reviews. Someone said that it was the best gyros/souvlaki on the island and I don’t believe that.

Food was really really amazing, but I decided to check other places during my stay on Skiathos. And you know what? Every time I ate somewhere else I was disappointed, because it literally was not as good as here.

So I came back there to eat amazing souvlaki in pita and am so happy about it!

Also try eggplant balls, they are sooooo delicious 🙌🏼
