Skiathos, a picturesque Greek island known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant atmosphere, is also home to a hidden culinary gem that will satisfy your cravings for authentic Greek street food. Nestled in a quaint corner of the island is "No Name," a small fast food joint that has earned a big reputation for its mouthwatering gyros.

As you stroll through the narrow streets of Skiathos Town, the scent of grilled meat and warm pita bread wafts through the air, drawing you closer to this unassuming establishment. With its humble façade and simple yet inviting decor, No Name exudes an air of authenticity that promises a truly Greek dining experience.

Gyros, a staple of Greek cuisine, is a delectable combination of succulent meat, typically pork or chicken, roasted on a vertical spit. At No Name, the art of gyro-making is taken to new heights. The skilled chefs behind the counter carefully carve thin slices of tender meat, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. As they assemble the gyros, they add a generous helping of freshly cut vegetables, tzatziki sauce, and a sprinkle of fragrant herbs, creating a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.

What makes No Name's gyros stand out is not only the quality of the ingredients but also the authenticity of the preparation. The restaurant stays true to traditional Greek methods, ensuring that each bite transports you to the streets of Athens or Thessaloniki. The secret lies in the slow-roasting process, allowing the meat to develop a delightful charred exterior while remaining juicy and tender on the inside.

As you sink your teeth into the warm, fluffy pita bread encasing the gyro, the explosion of flavors is nothing short of heavenly. The combination of the perfectly spiced meat, crisp vegetables, and creamy tzatziki sauce creates a symphony of taste that will leave you craving more.

No Name is not just about the gyros; it's also about the overall experience. The friendly staff welcomes you with warm smiles and a genuine passion for their craft. They take the time to explain the menu options and suggest the best combinations, ensuring that each customer's preferences are catered to. Whether you're a meat lover, a vegetarian, or have specific dietary requirements, No Name is committed to providing a satisfying and inclusive dining experience.

The vibrant atmosphere at No Name adds to the charm of the place. As you enjoy your gyro, you can soak in the lively ambiance of the surrounding area. Locals and tourists mingle, sharing stories and laughter, all while savoring the delicious flavors of Greece.

While Skiathos offers a wide array of dining options, No Name stands out for its commitment to quality, authenticity, and affordability. The generous portions and reasonable prices make it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. It's no surprise that the restaurant has earned a loyal following of food enthusiasts who keep coming back for more.

So, the next time you find yourself exploring the enchanting island of Skiathos, make sure to seek out the hidden gem that is "No Name." Let your taste buds indulge in the tantalizing flavors of Greek street food, and immerse yourself in the vibrant spirit of the island. With its delicious gyros and warm hospitality, No Name promises an unforgettable culinary experience that will leave you craving a return visit.

No visit to Skiathos is complete without experiencing the culinary delight that is the Gyro Pita at No Name! This little spot may be unassuming, but don’t let the name fool you—this place delivers big on flavor and quality.

From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed with warm Greek hospitality. The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal after a day of exploring this beautiful island. The staff at No Name are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make sure you feel right at home.

Now, let’s talk about the No name —this is what dreams are made of! The pita bread is freshly baked, soft, and just the right amount of chewy, with a subtle crispiness on the outside. The gyro meat is simply sensational—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and grilled to perfection. You can tell it’s made with the freshest ingredients and a lot of love.

What makes this truly stand out is the generous toppings. Freshly sliced tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and onions add a wonderful crunch and freshness that balances the rich, savory meat. The tzatziki sauce, oh my! Creamy, garlicky, and full of flavor, it ties everything together in the most delicious way. It’s clear that No Name takes pride in their food, and it shows in every bite.

No Name is a must-visit when you’re in Skiathos. Whether you're a gyro connoisseur or trying one for the first time, this is the place to experience an authentic, mouthwatering gyro pita. Trust me, one bite and you’ll be hooked. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem—it’s the best gyro pita you’ll find...

For me, this place was average at best, despite there being a few reviews to the contrary.

Yes, it’s cheap (€4.50 for the gyros pitta) but very small and, given the amount of gyros establishments on the island selling for the same price, I felt … nay, I know … that there is a better quality of gyros available than what is currently being offered at No Name.

I opted for the gyros with everything on and received a pitta that was very thinly coated with tzatziki, six fries, a small piece of tomato, a few strands of onion and meat that was bitty, hard and overly salty. The drinks on offer are both limited and stored in a fridge … so no ice cold draft beer or spirits here folks.

The eatery is self-service (no waiters) so the counter staff take your order. Don’t expect a smile or a thanks here. I have always been taught that pleasantries and manners cost nothing - unlike their sub-standard gyros.

Despite my thoughts, the place seems very popular with locals and tourists alike so, maybe I’m missing something?

As always, this review is based on my own personal experience and is in no way written to undermine other, more positive reviews. It’s just a...
