KALLISTI APARTMENTS — Hotel in Skiathos Municipality

My wife and I stayed here for a week during our honeymoon and it was absolutely wonderful. Father and son owners Apostoli and Stavro were always warm and helpful, and Monica, the cleaning lady was always kind and went above and beyond to help us. When we asked how to use the washing machine in our room, she offered to wash our towels for us and hang them to dry while we were out. We even met Dimitra, Apostoli's wife, during our stay when she would occasionally man the front desk or sit in chairs at the entry-way. It is a true family-run business and felt very personal.||||The location was perfect - just off of the main hub, Papadiamanti street. Right in the mix when you wanted to be, yet very quiet on the inside when the balcony doors were closed. We are very light sleepers, and we can corroborate with other reviews that exterior noise was not a problem for us. One thing worth mentioning is that during our stay there was one family with a propensity for slamming their door late at night and early in the morning; the hallway is empty so there is nothing to absorb any sound, so unfortunately that did affect our sleep at times. Again, this is in no way a fault of the management, but we felt it was important to share.||||The room itself was spacious and very clean, with beautiful marble floors, a full kitchenette we took advantage of, and tons of closet and drawer space at your disposal. We also loved the closed-in shower (not the wet-bathrooms you tend to find in some hotels on the island) and the fact that it was a true queen bed, not two beds pushed together. Our room also had a lovely little private balcony with a small table and two chairs. It also included a drying rack that hung over the railing which was perfect for drying our towels and bathing suits after a beach day, and even a load of laundry. Nobody from the street ever looked up or noticed us, so it was a nice place to sit in the evening or at night and take in the sights and sounds of the street below. ||||On the ground level and attached to the apartments is a cafe called Il Posto. Il Posto is run by Stavro and they have a wide variety of caffeinated beverages and food for sitting down or on the go. The people who work there are very kind. Aside from Stavro, we were served by Xara, a wonderful waitress who always seemed to have a smile on her face. Throughout the course of the week, we had a great time talking with and getting to know her.||||By the end of our stay, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family when we were hugging Apostoli, Dimitra, Stavro, and Xara. I’ve been staying in this apartment for 1 week with a group of friends and we have had a sensational experience. Everything made us feel good and satisfied. |First of all the location was excellent, considering the fact that it was located in the centre of Skiathos and the view from our terrace was on the Main Street. Therefore it took us just a couple of minutes to go everywhere. |The apartment where we have been staying for these days was comfy and good sized, with two big rooms, two small terraces and one bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom too. |The cleaning service was good, since for example everyday we had the dirty towels replaced with the clean ones. |One of the main reasons why we consider this place so highly recommended is the service. The personal was so welcoming, friendly, always available and very helpful that we thanked all the team the day we left. A fantastic, family run place to stay, right in the heart of Skiathos Town. |The owner and his dad, as well as the lovely lady that looks after the place and keeps it tidy and spotless, are all so friendly and welcoming!!!|We felt at home as soon as we arrived. They gave us a map of the island, offered plenty of advices about beaches, transport, places to eat, and anything we needed. |The apartments are nicely furnished, with pretty balcony and fully comfortable. |Being in such a great location, we never needed a car. We could walk to the main bust stop and get the bus to all the beaches (2-3€ pp/each way), they run every 20 minutes. From some beaches we could go back to the main town by water taxi (4-5€ pp/each way). |You are in minutes of walking distance from all the restaurants, garden theatre, cafes, shops, pharmacies, and from some beaches.|The family who runs the apartments, owns a fabulous caffe/bar/bistro called IL POSTO, just outside the apartments building.
