I visited this place 2 days ago on my trip to Zagorohoria with my wife. We searched in google and "sta riza" ranked among the top places to go for lunch. Definetely its reputation is well deserved! We tried its pie and the two main dishes with game (wild boar & deer), along with its red wine. Ofcourse we managed to take a photo only of the cozy ambience and the pie that landed as a starter. After that there was no interest to take any further photos and focus switched to the food (apologies). There is no debate that this place is a must go!

Beautiful location overlooking the hills, trees, and mountains. We ordered the Metsovone cheese with tomato jam and it was smokey and thick, as well as the mushrooms which came in a lovely sauce. They brought us some delicious, crispy bread, soft on the inside alongside a smooth butter. The pie with greens was delicious, crispy on the outside, with soft white creamy cheese on the side. We got the hilopites which tasted more like pasta and the wild boar. These weren't complicated flavours, but good portions and comforting.

📍 At The Roots Στα Ρίζα This was ABSOLUTELY our favorite spot to dine during our trip to Zagorahoria. The food was soooo good we even tried to go back! We weren’t able to because they were closed. 🥺 Make sure you check their schedule because they’re not open everyday! All I can say is that as good as every dish looks in these photos, they’re JUST as flavorful and magical IRL. MAKE THIS STOP IF YOU’RE EVER CLOSE!

A really warm restaurant to pass by at your visit in Zagorochoria! The atmosphere is really warm and welcome! The place looks like it’s a living room inside. The only fault I could find is the working hours, they close at 22:00, so better go early if you want to try all the delicacies! You should try pies -it’s a must have at these villages. The bread was amazing, warm and buttery! Totally recommended!

3ημερο 28η Οκτωβρίου ! 4 ενήλικες και ένα μωρό 1,5 χρόνων ! Περιμέναμε για τραπέζι και το δίνουν σε άλλη παρέα ! Περιμέναμε ώρα για να παραγγείλουμε , δεν μας έδιναν την σημασία που έπρεπε ! Όσο αφορά το φαγητό , νόστιμα πιάτα (κοτοπιτα , μπιφτέκι , χοιρινή μπριζόλα ) , τσιμπημένα πολύ στις τιμές τουλάχιστον για τις μερίδες που σέρβιραν ! Έχοντας παραγγείλει χωριάτικη ήδη για το τραπέζι μας στα 9,5€ παραγγέλνω μια σκέτη ντομάτα για να φάει το παιδί μου ! Ζητάμε λογαριασμό , πάλι στην αναμονή μέχρι να μας τον φέρουν μας χρεώνουν την ΣΚΕΤΗ ντομάτα κομμένη σαν ‘τριαντάφυλλο’ 6.90€ ! Πάω να πληρώσω και το αναφέρω στον σερβιτόρο ενοχλημένη ! Ταυτόχρονα του αναφέρω πως το εμφιαλωμένο που μας έδωσε είχε ημερομηνία λήξης τον μαιο ! (Δεν ήταν κάτι σοβαρό απλά του το ανέφερα καθώς το είδα ) ! Στο τέλος ! Μου δίνει 10€ πίσω ! Το θέμα μας δεν ήταν τα 10€ ήταν ότι μου χρεώνουν μια σκέτη ντομάτα 6.90 ! Καθώς αν δεν το σχολίαζα εγώ η επόμενη παρέα που ίσως παράγγελνε κάτι παρόμοιο θα το πλήρωνε διότι δεν μιλάνε όλοι ! Δεν μπορούν να διαχειριστούν τον κόσμο στο μαγαζί τους ! Ξέρεις ότι έρχεται 3ημερο και θα έχεις κόσμο ! Πάρε άτομα να βοηθήσουν !

Εστιατόριο στην περιοχή της Βίτσας, στο Ζαγόρι. Ήταν πολύ ευχάριστο να βρεθεί ένα τέτοιο κατάστημα που να είναι πραγματικά εστιατόριο και πόσο μάλλον στην ορεινή επαρχία. Το κατάστημα είναι φοβερά προσεγμένο, πολύ καθαρό, πολύ καλός διάκοσμος και εξαιρετικό σέρβις. Ι κατάλογος είναι επί το πλείστον με ελληνικά πιάτα με πιο μοντέρνα εμφάνιση, αλλά και μερικά σε πιο εστιατορικό επίπεδο. Έχει καλά πιάτα "της ώρας" αλλά η δύναμη είναι στην κατσαρόλα και στα ορεκτικά. Προσπαθήστε να δοκιμάσετε ότι σας φαίνεται πιο "περίεργο" και θα ξαφνιαστειτε ευχάριστα. Πολύ τίμιο το γεγονός ότι υπήρξε μέριμνα για τους ανθρώπους που νηστεύουν με σοβαρά πιάτα, το οποίο το βρίσκω δείγμα σοβαρής επιχείρησης. Επίσης και οι εγκαταστάσεις της τουαλέτας ήταν ΥΠΟΔΕΙΓΜΑΤΙΚΕΣ. Σημάδι επίσης σοβαρής επιχείρησης. Πάρκινγκ δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα, στην επαρχία είμαστε. Το κατάστημα μέσα ήταν πολύ όμορφο αλλά και η θέα στον εξωτερικό χώρο είναι αξιοθαύμαστη. Πάρα όλα τα προηγούμενα το κύριο όμως είναι ότι το φαγητό ήταν σε πολύ υψηλά επίπεδα. Να το προτιμήσετε. Εμείς θα το ξανατιμήσουμε σίγουρα.
