Exclusive inaccessibility
I've never been so disappointed by a restaurant I couldn't even eat at. This 'house'/taverna takes "exclusive" to a whole new level of frustration.
We arrived the other day hoping to enjoy a nice meal, only to find that every single table was booked. Fair enough, it's a small place and clearly popular. But when we tried to make a reservation two days later early afternoon , the response was again booked out. When I inquired about the next day, the response was vague "maybe." Really?
This indifference, offering no alternatives or suggestions was disappointing. We're Greeks are after all known for our hospitality. It's as if they're so confident in their popularity that customer service has become an afterthought.
While the food might be amazing (I wouldn't know, would I?), the booking policy is a joke. A restaurant should be about hospitality, not making potential customers feel unwelcome.
If you're in Zakynthos and fancy playing restaurant roulette, by all means, try your luck here. But don't be surprised if you end up hungry, disappointed or even frustrated. There are plenty of other tavernas on the island that actually seem to want customers and are accommodating. I will be looking for restaurants where the locals/dopioi eat instead.
The two stars are for the apparent popularity among tourists. Minus three for the poor customer service, impossible...
Read moreThe food at this place is very fresh, they grow lots of their own vegetables in the garden so all salads are great! We ordered a greek salad of which all the veggies were very good, a gyro dish which was pork and it was seasoned very well and some quite crispy and the pita (I think) that came with it was also very soft. We also ordered a skewer dish which also had a lot of flavour. Finally we also got the fried squid which tasted very fresh. We also liked how the dishes also came with a small salad which is refreshing when sometimes on holidays it is easy to forget. The house of the restaurant is also extraordinary and one of a kind, first of all there is a huge grapevine that is above the seating area providing shade and also looks amazing and of course the truly amazing 1500 year old olive tree were they make their homemade olive oil from. The staff there were also very friendly as we asked and talked about their garden. I heavily recommend this place and I don’t think this place has the recognition that...
