I stayed in the accommodation next door owned by the brother of the restaurant. I was excited to try out this Taverna, but unfortunately my experience was ruined by the brother (who runs the restaurant). Food made by grandma was very nice. The garden itself is lovely (except for all the mosquitoes that might have their own dinner on your feet/legs). Prices are very expensive. They give you a "free" bruschetta and watermelon, which seems very nice, untill you get the bill and you realize they sneakily charge the items on it without telling you or showing you a price breakdown. I asked for it, as I remembered the price of my meal and the amount shown was higher. The brother then said the bruschetta and watermelon are charged. When I asked the brother about this he became super rude. I pointed out to him that this is the first time someone charges for "Greek Hospitality" and that a gift is a gift or he should have given the option to purchase. He said he was very busy and I had to pay immediately the full amount by card and he would refund the charge of the "gifted" items afterwards. However, after paying he all of a sudden refused to do that and became very passive aggressive. I insisted he gave me the money back as he literally just promised me to do so before forcing me to pay the full amount by card. He eventually gave in but commanded me to sit back at my table and ask his nephew to bring me a handful of 0.10 and .20 euro. Very bad vibes and attitude, I...
Read moreWe are in Greece third time, we have tried soooo many restaurants, and we never faced "service fee". We went to this restaurant first time and we were little bit surprised about the cost. We didn't want to make fuss, hence we didn't go back to ask. We went second time, since you don't have so many options in this location and we have learned there is a service fee 2.5 € per person!!! High bill was again suspicious, the waiter miscalculated the bill and billed us 2x 6.5 for cakes instead of 5.5 eur. In the end he returned me only one euro, because according to his calculations he make a mistake of one euro. He was counting on the paper I had calculator in the phone. I didn't want to fight over one euro. But wow. Service fee is absolute robbery, they give you bread you are not asking for and service is so slow, that my 70y old grandma would waiter us faster. Food was ok, but nothing so special and spectacular as in comments here. Spaghetti carbonara had a LOT of pepper. You go to Peppermint to Argassi you will get free prosecco, bruscetta, water and an...
Read moreVery nice meal, lovely garden dining area and good service. We (couple) had prawn starter and Greek salad to share, then spaghetti bolognese and lamb chops. Lamb chops too big to finish and really good. Just beers and soft drinks during meal, and too full for desert. Complimentary bruschetta starter and free house ouzo at end of meal was very pleasant. Service very good, lots of explanation of menu items. I saw some comments about people thinking some of the prices weren't clearly marked (some prices are per person for a 2 person dish) but the menu was totally clear and we heard the waiter very carefully explaining this to other tables. Can you eat cheaper nearby? Yes, but the prices here are fair as the food is good and has options not...
