Really love this place. We discovered it having breakfast there one day and decided to dine there that evening. The menu is great and a bit different to other restaurants in town which is great. We had 3 courses. All were great but particularly the starters we had 1 flat bread with a sort of chilli beef on with sumac yoghurt with rocket which was superb and also fried feta with thyme and orange honey! The feta starter was ridiculously good, great flavour combinations, very clever dish! Mains consisted of steak and a burger.. I know, fancy having that whilst in Greece, but it's what we were after both were cooked to perfection. Same with dessert, a white chocolate cheesecake which was very chocolatey and a lemon mousse which was very light and pleasing. That of course is great but the people serving you add to the experience and they have lovely people, the woman serving I breakfast in the morning is very sweet and always seems to remind me not to forget the beach bag! On the evening there is another lady who I think owns the places (I think she works forever) she is very kind as well and always acknowledges you. There's even a supermarket they have next door with all you need. VERY lovely...
Read moreOMG! This place was the pinnacle of Zanlkynthos! I know super good reviews are suspicious, but I’m a tourist from Chicago and I absolutely loved it. First of all, Alex, Mandy, and the Albanian were simply a delight. The most Humble and grounded chefs I’ve ever met. They’re truly amazing. The food was delicious. The dolmades was amazing with the raisins and the zucchini fritters were heavenly. Please order the salad and drink some ouzo. The setting is also amazing as well. It is a beautiful garden setting in the back of the restaurant. It is truly picturesque. The entertainment and bands are lovely, and if you would like to get away from the craziness but still have fun, GO HERE!!!!!!! Also, they offer cooking classes for groups of tourists, and I would 100% recommend them. I am just leaving the class right now and could not keep in my excitement. Our group stuffed our faces with the food that WE made. They were lovely and offered a great history of Greek food. With all my heart, I hope everyone on Zanlkynthos comes to eat at...
Read moreWe did a cooking course here with the nice family of the owner of the Green Frog. It was absolutly pleasant, funny and full with very much good cooking reicipes: from perfect tasting Tsatziki to best Souvlaki or from handmade Spanakopita to original homemade Baklava, Saganaki, fresh baked greek Pita, Stifado and so on and on... also selfmade greek Frappé coffee. The junior owner speaks best UK English. His Mother who is a lovely woman as well, as his sweet aunt and his nice sister, too. Everybody performs recipes where the person is most experienced and good in. So you can see the preparation of the meals and then do it by yourself, if you want. Afterwards you will eat all the fine meals accompanied by extraoridinary good greek wines from Zakynthos. Therefore the price for all this is really low. But the most plesant is the congenial family whom you may spend a good time with and Alex will give you much good tips where it is pleasant to stay on Zakynthos. So for all of this thank you and all...
