The place looked authentic with its appearance and was busy as were many restaurants that evening. We ordered the half pizza with salad, and chips as a side. The pizza didn't look great. It also didn't disappoint our anticipation!! It was not hand made, but like a bog-standard, cheap, mass-produced one we could get from our local Iceland store. The salad was just OK, again a lazy version although preferable to that pizza. The 'chips' was a cross between potato scallops and crisps. The house rose was average. One good thing was upon request they had fresh chillies for the pizza. We decided if asked how the meal was, we'd be honest. So I answered, 'not very good'. The waiter's face dropped. I detailed the pizza was merely a frozen one and the chips were not proper chips (or could have been better at any rate). He did not contradict us and appeared to indicate he or someone would be back. He took the plates. Nobody came. We paid the bill and left. People are also permitted to smoke - despite I believe - that they are breaking the law permitting this in a covered restaurant... as do many restaurants here. It's often the staff on breaks or their friends or relatives sitting around puffing away when you're trying to enjoy your meal. No idea why there's so many highly-rated reviews. Perhaps they went for the 'authentic' Greek dishes. It was the worst pizza we'd had in Zante and we've had a few. Actually I realise now... it tasted like it had...
Read moreWe recently dined at Zorbas and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The food was incredibly flavorful, with each dish capturing the authentic taste of Greece. From the perfectly grilled souvlaki to the fresh, zesty salads, every bite was a treat.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with the charming décor giving the place a true taverna feel. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing meal with friends and family. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were always taken care of, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
The service was excellent—quick, efficient, and with a smile. It’s clear that the team takes pride in what they do. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by for a memorable and delicious Greek...
Read moreQuite simply the best vegetarian meal I have ever had! So very rarely is the veggi meal is the star of the show. I was expecting the same type of veggi meze you get in many Greek restaurants but boy was I wrong! This was a huge meal with loads of different bits to try. All beautiful but especially the Broad Beans in tomato sauce and the Zucchini Fritters. The Greek side salad and Feta Cheese was also the nicest I have tasted and the Tzatziki was beautiful and creamy. I chose the roast potatoe accompaniment (not chips) and they were besitiful! Not forgetting the stuffed pepper, stuffed vine leaves and lovely pita bread, I certainly had a full belly at the end of the meal. Arrive early to guarantee a table as it gets very busy later and with good reason. I...
